Shangrila Chinese Restaurant

This is the place to go for good food and a good 'ol time. Every Friday from 7pm-11pm there is Karaoke. Has a great home feeling and there is no judgment. If you want to keep on singing throughout the night ask DJ SkudR Jones who will keep working the night at another location. But you have to come first. There is even a Facebook page full of pictures of singers and they stay connected. Everyone is a good soul! So near Brooks Base go into Shangrila for a good Friday night.

The food is okay but the delivery service is a joke. The last two times we have waited over 2 hours for our delivery order. That is just insane! They will say "We are on our way" then another hour passes and they are still not there. When you call to cancel the order they say "Its already made and on its way" Yummmm 2 hour old Chinese food?! It's expensive and delivery is awful. Sadly it is the only option on this end of town. Hopefully the new City Base West will bring about new Chinese restaurants!

My family and I have been eating here for years. Good food good price and wonderful service!!! They treat you like you are family here. So unless you are stuck up and rude your self I am sure you will enjoy eating here

I received a menu on my door from Shangrila and based on the menu items offered my husband and I decided to give it a try. We went to the restaurant to dine-in but we were initially turned off by the outside appearance but decided to go ahead and give it a try. For the sake of getting straight to the point. The restaurant was filthy, I was so shocked at the dirty booths, carpet, ledges, ceilings and silverware. I over heard a waitress tell another patron "sorry for the styrofoam bowl but the dishwasher just got here". It was 5 pm. I might have been able to over look the filthy establishment (that's a joke) if the food had been worth it. It wasn't. We ordered spring rolls and the filling tasted like it had already gone bad and they fried them any way. The waiter accidently brought us someone elses rangoons but let us keep them since it was his mistake, terrible, they were rubbery. I ordered curry delight and my husband ordered fried duck. Everything was terrible including the steamed rice which had clearly been sitting for hours. To add insult to injury this terrible meal cost us $42.00. I would have had a more enjoyable meal at Bejiing Express for much less. I'm not sure how the health department hasn't closed this place down. We weren't even able to order any beer since the waiter was kind enough to tell us the owner lost his license to sell alcohol. I'm not sure how the owner was able to look me in the eye and ask if everything was okay. They boast that they are "blue plate" award winners. Yea back in 2005 and I'm not sure I really believe that.

My Family and I have been there on several occasions and the food and been good, what we really enjoyed about this place was a special lady that always seated us, she teated us like we were family and that to me was so special. Keep it up.
