What a great experience we had working with Rob Cary's dog trainers on obedience and basic training for our lab. Fun time, well run class, organized and we were delighted in how much Rob Cary's staff cared about our lab and the other dogs. The staff was encouraging to us and our dog. We took the class wanting to correct some habits our lab had learned rom us, thinking we knew what to do. Not only did our lab excel with the right kind of training and pass with flying colors, we learned so much ourselves. Thank you to the Rob Cary staff from E Jason.

temperature controled pet kennel. my yorkie has vacationed at Rob Cary Pet Resort for many weeks a year over a 14 year period of time........ all is well, love from Jelly Bean the Yorkie to Rob Cary Pet Resort.

We have used Rob Cary Pet Resort to board, train and groom our pets for many years. Recently, we took our two German Shepherd mixes in for grooming. While grooming the male, the groomer noted a mass in the abdominal area. When we picked up our dogs we were advised of this and immediately took him to our vet. Our vet found two more masses. After a cytology study we were advised the cells in the largest mass were abnormal. Our dog had surgery to remove all three tumors and is doing very well. Thanks to the groomer, Christin, and the staff at Rob Cary Pet Resort! Job well done! We recommend these folks to those who want their animals to get the best!

Pet training was no problem because we were with our dogs the whole time. We boarded our dogs for almost three weeks and were fined an extra day because we arrived 10 minutes (not exaggerating) late. The owner was in a bad mood and actually yelled and treated us as though we were the enemy. One would expect better treatment when their bill totaled $550 before the fine. When our dogs (both large) were brought out, one had a fully dislocated hip. The owner denied everything and said no one noticed he could not use his leg. The vet said it takes the force equivalent to being hit by a car to accomplish this. Our dog (otherwise healthy) has to live out the rest of his life crippled from this abuse. Our other dog was curiously cowed down and is now intimidated by strangers. We have since heard similar complaints by other former customers.

I was somewhat surprised because I had been to Rob Cary years ago and the staff was very friendly and acted as if my pooch was the only dog in the room. However, when I recently took my dog in for grooming, I was very disappointed. \r \r I was greeted by silence by four people that were behind the desk (one on the phone and the other three chatting amongst themselves. After approximately 3 minutes, they finally asked why I was there (no smile, no enthusiasm...nothing. As if I should be grateful they were helping me!!) and immediately came and took my dog away, didn't say anything to her or me, just led her away. I stood there a little dumbfounded, registered her and while walking out the door, I thought I should turn around and go get her. My bad. I dropped her off at 8:35 am (I called two times betwen 1:00 and 2:30 to find out the status) and wasn't called until 3:10 to come pick her up. All she needed was a bath and trim. \r \r To the owner/manager - I'm sorry but if you are in the ""pet friendly"" business, then YOU NEED TO BE FRIENDLY!! You need to treat your customers as if their dog is the prettiest, cutest, etc. dog you've ever seen. It's not rocket science. Maybe you should get rid of the teenagers and hire a more mature, competent staff that loves to be around animals and people. Just a suggestion.

I am visiting San Antonio on business, and had to fly out to DC on very short notice. I also could not take my service dog with me, so was desperate to find a safe and loving place for her for two days especially as I was flying in and out in what I hoped would be a consistent break in the weather but could not be sure so was really stressing. I have also been a dog breeder, trainer, and show person for over 40 years, so I really do know my dog facilities, what they should be like, and how to spot a good one. Rob Cary qualifies as GREAT. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the facility airy and clean. The staff could not have been more helpful nor friendlier, and the accommodations for my girl were high-end and above all SAFE. Everyone I met was wonderful. They even assured me that if I was storm-stayed a day or more that I need not worry, they would keep my girl safe with them until I got back, a real worry for me at the time. She had some meds to be given which was no problem, and she settled in well. Her suite had a real bed - a big deal as she sleeps on mine, not in a kennel - a sofa, an easy chair, and a tv going to keep her company and muffle ambient noise which might upset her, which is what I do at home too. She was also away from other dogs, great to keep her stress levels down, and to keep her from being hurt or from picking up any coughs or other illnesses. She had inside and outside access, and lots of room to play and stretch out. Service dogs are different from regular dogs, and Rob Cary was very sensitive to her (and my!) special needs and treated her like family. Because of the quality of the facility and staff, I did not even feel guilty about leaving her, and was able to take care of business on my trip without being stressed about my girl. They fed her the food I brought, gave her her special treats, petted and played with her, even tucked her in at night and made sure she was fine at all times. I even had the option of calling and speaking to her on the speaker phone in her suite, but elected not to as I knew that that would make her look for me and I didn't want her to think I was there when I was not! I have had other dogs that would have been great for though. On picking her up, she was in amazingly good spirits, still liked the staff lol, and the bill was exactly what I had expected, no surprises. I cannot recommend this place more highly, and strongly urge anyone with a special friend who needs a home away from home for a bit to try here FIRST. I just wished I lived in San Antonio so I could bring her in regularly for grooming, and for agility classes which she would just love. The dogs I saw in a training class while I was there all seemed very well behaved and really happy to be there. Although they knew I would not be back nor become a long-term client, they took great care of us. We have only been back in the hotel for a little bit today, and she is calm and happy, and her tummy is NOT upset, yay! So again, a big thank-you to the staff at Rob Cary for helping out a traveler with an emergency, and for your wonderful care of my most important friend and aide. Namaste!

I take my two dog here every two weeks for grooming. When we walk in they are excited and when met with the employees, just dance and beg to be picked up. When we HAVE to board, this is the place they go. I know what my dogs need and relay this information to the employees. They listen. I know to take my own dog food because they have sensitive digestive systems and need what they are used to. I have known the owner Carol, the owner, twenty-five years and know that she and her employees are sensitive to the well-being of your pet. They love animals and do not want them to be unhappy! I know they cannot please everyone all the time but if you talk to them they will respond. Would not take my two Griffs anywhere else!
