This is the first time I've felt compelled to review a practice, but I just really wanted to express my gratitude to everyone there at O'Connor Road Animal Hospital. My family and I have been taking our dogs to this particular practice for the past four years and have had nothing but good experiences and excellent care.
My particular history with them involves our two current Australian Shepherds, Helo and Maia, who have been seeing Dr. Zengler (and formerly Dr. Quirk :) ) since they were puppies. We have had a very interesting couple of years. Basic wellness care, vaccinations, and spay and neutering services were all handled wonderfully- but when Maia, then two-years-old, started having trouble getting up, I knew something was wrong. After ruling out hip dysplasia with x-rays and trying various other pain management treatments, Dr. Quirk referred us out to VREC for a consultation, and I found out Maia had torn her back ACL. The surgery was going to cost me an arm and a leg, and at VREC they wanted it all up front, but at two I was unwilling to put her down. She's my baby. It seemed unthinkable, but there was no way I could afford the entire thing all at once. I called O'Connor Road, and sure enough they had a doctor who could come in and do the needed surgery there, and they were able to work out a feasible payment plan with me. The surgery went well, the follow up care was amazing with the entire crew there (staff, techs, vets :) ), and Maia is now back to running around with her brother, currently on a mission to shed some pounds, and finally learning to catch a frisbee! During the entire ordeal I know I was an emotional mess, but they helped me through and I am so incredibly grateful.
I've never met the office staff, but I want to extend a huge thank you for the payment plan. You gave me the option to save my dog. I won't ever forget that. :)
Dr. Zengler is my current vet. She is knowledgeable and kind and both of my dogs love her. All of the doctors I've met there have been very good though if we couldn't get in to see Dr. Zengler. I've always felt very secure knowing that my dogs would get excellent care at O'Connor Road.
The staff is compassionate and helpful. It may take a few minutes to get through on the phones, but it is a very busy practice (which speaks volumes- so many people trust their pets to the doctors here) and it is well worth the wait. It's very easy to get appointments and refills on medications.
Mostly, I just want to say thank you. This practice is amazing and I will continue to refer friends over. :)

I love this place! and whenever anybody asks me where to take their babies I always say Oconnor Rd!! Sometimes the wait times for appointments can be long but we try to be patient because we know that if it were our babies in there we would want the doctor to take their time and be thorough.
The staff there is great but we especially love Dr. Cheryl who is a kind and compassionate veterinarian and Summer in the front office. Her wonderful and warm personality (and beautiful smile that always makes my husband's day) makes us feel comfortable having our pets in their care and somehow she manages to remember Bailey's medications and food even when I can't!
We did have one bad experience with the blonde girl that works up front but it was resolved and we stick to dealing with Summer or Ken
Thank you for sharing your wonderful feedback of our hospital on Yellow Pages! We are honored to be trusted with the care of your pets and are committed to ensuring that they live long and healthy lives. On behalf of Dr. Cheryl and the entire staff, thank you for your kind words!

First off, I'm a little concerned because the picture shown here is NOT O'Connor Road Animal Hospital. Not the one I go to at least. All that aside, onto my review: Even though I do prefer certain veterinarians there over the others, everyone that has seen my 2 dogs have been top notch. On my two year old mixed breeds first appointment, he was a little gun-shy due to some not so great treatment by a tech at Banfield. Within 2 minutes, Elizabeth, the tech there, had him wrapped around her finger. I've now been taking both of my dogs there for just under a year and they're very accommodating. They've both been boarded there and although I hate to leave them with anyone (I'm one of THOSE mommy's...) I trust them implicitly. Both Lizzie and Wayne are outstanding employees there and have always been most helpful to me whenever I've called with a question. I was sad to see Dr. Quirk go, but my dogs love Dr. Zengler. I've read other reviews on here and other sites and felt compelled to leave my review just because they've taken such great care of both me and my dogs. I think every business has it's downfalls and it's bad days, but their genuine caring and drive for excellence overshadows them in my book.
Thank you for the kind words of your review they are very appreciated. Yes, you are correct........ that is NOT a picture of O'Connor Road Animal Hospital. Not sure when or how the picture changed to a photo of a hospital that closed for business a few years back. Thanks for pointing that out so I can get that rectified!

I recently had an experience with O'connor Road Animal Hospital. I had taken my dog who become very ill, although I was worried for my pet I was also worried about the financial burden of the treatment. The treating vet gave me the most expensive options for symptoms I clearly had said the dog did not have. When I asked her for any other solutions she then told me "I have other people to see I'm going to have someone else come in once you make up your mind" and she left the room. If you are looking for someone to care for your pet and also the financial responsibility of being a pet owner, then O'connor is not for you. I also owned a dog previous to my current dog who mysteriously died in the care of O'connor Road Animal Hospital Groomers.
