Oaks on Bandera

These are probably these worst apartments I have lived in. For an all bills paid 750 a month 2 bedroom, I thought these apartments were a steal! But I soon found out why they were so cheap. Not only are they built poorly, the management is horrible as well. After I moved in, I noticed that a lot of the cabinets were only hanging on by a screw and some paint. The floor has bubbles and dents in it (and I live on the 2nd floor). The ceiling also has a few sags. Th sink and toilets and tubs clog frequently and when maintenance is called, the apartments tend to try to blame the tenant rather than fix the problem. Also, when I moved in, I saw a few roaches but I figured these apartments were old and I called pest control to come spray. After that, I kept seeing more and more roaches. After a year of living there, my apartment was infested with roaches and no matter how much I tried cleaning and calling pest control, the problem was never fixed. There is also mold in these apartment. Beware. One morning I woke up and my 4 year old son called me to his bedroom. There were brown spot all over two walls in his room. I called management and took a whole week before they came and looked. They kept denying it was mold. I called a mold specialty company and they confirmed it was mold. STILL, the apartments denied mold. All they did was carve out the spot in the wall where the mold was and sprayed some kind of paint over the BLACK mold they found ALL OVER the air conditioner unit. And that was that. They also try to charge you for everything they can. Need a light bulb? $5. People are littering throughout the apartment? EVERYONE gets charged $35. Window screen fell off after a thunderstorm? $60. There's so much more I could list here of the problems I have had with the non helpful rude management and maintenance and the apartments themselves, but Ill sum it up by saying BEWARE! DO NOT RENT HERE! you will hate it. Aside from the weed smoking and gun shooting neighbors that live here, these apartments have serious safety hazards that are just covered up to APPEAR fixed. A good example of this is when my aunt lived there a few years ago. She said that one day while she was sitting in her living room, (downstairs apartment) a man who lived above her fell through her ceiling!! I was surprised that she didn't sue! If it had been me, I sure would have. These apartments are cheap for a reason. Do yourself a favor and steer clear from these death traps.

THIS APT COMPLEX SEEMS TO HAVE THIER APARTMENTS BURNING UP. THE BURNT UP APARTMENTS ARE NOT EVEN CLOSED UP. NO SECURITY ON THE PREMESES. COPS ARE ALWAYS CALLED TO THIS APT COMPLEX. CARS GET VANDALIZED. IT LOOKS DISGUSTING, HAS TRASH ALL OVER THE PLACE, SOME MAIL BOXES ARE BUSTED OPEN, ROOFS LEAK, COCKROACHES IN THE APTS AND GRAFFITI ALL OVER THE PLACE. IT IS AN UNSAFE PLACE TO LIVE. IT SHOULD BE CONDEMDED.
