    Started shopping 4 mths before my wedding & so thankful I found Mayfair! Went to 5 other places before Mayfair & they were by far the best. I went with pictures of dresses I liked & the woman who assisted me (Valida) was amazing! She was so patient & help me find the perfect dress. It takes about 3 mths for a dress to come in but it arrived exactly when promised. The seamstress did an excellent job & within 2 wks I had my dress. Although it is a small shop & space is tight, if you go a minimum of 4 mths before your wedding date with pictures of what you're looking for they will do all they can to assist you.

    huge selection, small shop..all the dresses are jammed packed, too stuffy for me, good service, i didnt find a gown there, but give them a chance.

    I went in 7 months prior to my wedding date and their staff were very helpful. I finally decided on a dress completely different than I had envisioned. Their staff knew exactly what would ft me and I ended up with a one of a kind dress designed by the store owner herself. Gorgeous.

    Mayfair Bridal may not look like much, and it is somewhat crowded with dresses, but it is a wonderful place to buy your wedding dress. Everyone who helped me there was incredibly helpful and friendly. I actually found my dress at another shop, but I purchased it at Mayfair because I liked them so much and because they charge a maximum of $250 for all alterations (including bustle), which really couldn't be beaten. They worked hard to make sure my dress was a perfect fit; I had many fittings, but it never cost extra money.

    I ordered bridesmaid dresses and was told it would cost $25 per dress to expedite delivery and it would take 6-8 weeks. I was given my order total and asked if I wanted to pay it all at once, or make two payments. After 7 weeks I had not heard anything. I discovered that the dresses had been delivered to the store (two states away from where I live) and not my home. The owner explained that is how they do business. They get the dress to the store and the bride is responsible for the rest. They also said since they notified the bride, they had no responsibility to notify me. This is despite the fact that I was the one who placed the order and paid the bill. No one in the store explained to the bride or to me that delivery of the dresses would mean only getting it to the store. I was then told there would be an additional charge to get the dresses to my home. The store spoke to the bride and used that as authorization to charge my credit card an additional $45 for shipping. When I found out about the charge, I called and spoke to the owner and said I did not want the dresses shipped, and I would pick them up at the store. The owner then told me it would cost an additional $42 in sales tax because the dresses were being picked up in Texas. In our discussions the store owner told me I was not her customer (even though I ordered and paid for the dresses), and that the only one they needed to deal with about bridesmaid dresses was the bride. When did it become an accepted business practice to give a customer a total cost and then add $40 to the order? When did someone other than a card holder become an authorizing agent on a credit card? Lastly, I went out on the internet and found a website where I could get the exact same dresses, delivered via rush delivery to my house for $132 less than I paid Mayfair Bridal. STAY AWAY from this business. \r

    I got engaged last year and I searched and searched for my dress. I went to every bridal store in town which aren't very many by the way. I looked at reviews and saw Mayfair. At that time they didn't have good reviews so i decided not to go here. I had to go to Austin to find my dress which is the Galante by Pronovias. I still needed to altar my dress and i had to look for Bridemaid dresses. I decided to go to Mayfair Bridal , Omg! I should of gone there in the first place. They are so helpful and I found my Bridemaids dresses . I even decided to get my dresses altered there. They did a wonderful job on my wedding dress. Its sooooo amazing ! I had a great experience!!! I totally got the attention I wanted.. hehe ! Thank you Mayfair Bridal!

    We had an appointment here and were a little disappointed. The dress selection was ok, but it was really hard to find dresses because they are all squashed together. The bridal salon is VERY small and there was another appointment at the same time as me. That would have been fine if the other bride hadn't brought 12 of her closest family members and friends with her to watch. It was so cramped and hot. On the plus side the staff is very friendly and the girl that helped me was really sweet and knew I was frustrated with the situation. I may be back, but probably not.

    I went to 12 bridal shops all over San Antonio. Nothing had anything close to my size, budget, or style of what I was looking for. I came to Mayfair Bridal and Mrs. Avera, Owner helped me out right away. I didn't even make an appointment. She was very understanding, helpful and since I was only going to be in town for a week before the wedding she suggested that it was best to have the fitting done that week. She had the dress fitted and sewn in two days. You can get your dress on friday and it will be ready sunday. Tell me where else you can get that done. She picks out all the dresses herself so you know you are getting quality. They are this good. And since i was lacking in chest department they hooked me up with sewn in inserts so i didn't have to worry about a bra and i increased a size. Which was very nice. Now If you are picky like me, try this place first. I was able to get my gown including alterations for just above 1000. Try and get that somewhere else?.

    I did all my research online so that I'd know what I wanted when I went into a store, and then I looked for a place in town that carried the dress I wanted. I went to Mayfair and was helped by Theresa, who was very friendly and attentive and made me feel confident that I could ask for exactly what I wanted. I told her the dress style, which she looked up, and then she asked if I wanted to look at any other styles. I told her I would, but I told her my budget and said that it was definite, and she never tried to push anything on me or suggest anything that was even close to my limit, which was $1000 (so, not exorbitant for a wedding dress). She offered me cost-saving options that I didn't even know about, and even encouraged me not to change my mind on a couple things that I would've ended up buying from their business had I done so. At the end of it all, I walked away with a dress off-the-rack that she had picked out, which, I might add, I didn't think I'd like at first. She had a good eye, and once I tried it on, I loved it! I'm not a big shopper; I like efficiency and straightforward business, and I found both.

  • Infuriating, Disappointing, Unprofessional and Added Stress!

    If you like stress added and extra money wasted while trying to plan a wedding....go here! There was a problem with my dress order and the store never bothered to call and tell me....a month and 1/2 goes by with me thinking that everything is going smoothly and I'm only waiting to get a call from them that all my dresses are in... only to find out the order was never placed. They never called but lied and said they did, only later to say they only called once and it was a month and a half after the orders were supposed to be placed. I ended up having to pay extra to get all my dresses speed delivered and no apology from the store owner or workers. She basically said it was my fault and that she wasnt going to personally do anything to make it right!!! She said 'It is not my problem, I am not a wedding coordinator'....\r \r I am a very understanding and gracious person and I have never written one of these reviews....but the owners and staffs lack of sympathy, lack willingness to make it right, blaming me for the whole thing, lying and non-professionalism was just too much for me!!! I really would stay away from this store at all of luck on your wedding search!!!
