Mariachi Imperial de Lupita is not just a mariachi group. They are a musical experience that stays with you much after their performance. We had the pleasure of having them at our wedding and their performance honestly made our reception a resounding success.

Mariachi Imperial was ready to greet us and lead us to our table as we arrived with the son "La Negra." As we sat down, Jose Rosario, the handsome singer and trumpet player, sang the romantic ballad "Somos Novios" going from Spanish to English with the smoothness of an experienced crooner. Lupita then joined him as they sang my grandmother's favorite song "Hay Unos Ojos." What a great performance and what vocal virtuosity by both Lupita and Jose. There was not a dry eye in the ballroom as they finished the song. After several other romantic songs for us, they went on to perform for our guests, playing "Guantanamera," "Cielito Lindo," "Rancho Grande," Volver, Volver" and many other favorites, including happy cumbias and bullfighting songs. We all had such a blast that we ended up dancing with Mariachi Imperial on their last song, their trademark cumbia "El Cafetal."

We will now count Mariachi Imperial as part of our parties. Of course, we became fans and I know that Lupita has a cameo on the Selena video "No Me Queda Mas," and that both Jose and Lupita are published composers and recording artists with several awards, including some national songwriting awards for Jose Rosario. We appreciate Mariachi Imperial, Lupita, and Jose, because they are great artists and also awesome persons. They are simply sensational!
