I have a 10 month old Chihuahua mix. She got sick over the weekend so Monday morning I took her to Leon Valley veterinary hospital and they did an outstanding job with her. She had to stay the whole day in their care, each time I called to check on her they gave me a thorough update and reassured me that they were taking care of her. Great place to take your pet.

Provided by SuperpagesI know my pets are in very caring and capable hands at Leon Valley Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Meier and his staff have gone above and beyond for my pets over the years. It's rare to find such great service these days. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Provided by SuperpagesAbsolutely the best veterinary medicine I have had for my pets, canine and feline. They have cared for ALL of my pets for 18 years! Convenient hours and location!

Provided by SuperpagesSo grateful for the professional and compassionate care that Dr. Deier and his staff have given my cats and dogs for the past 12 years, from puppyhood to end-of-life care. They are able to inspire confidence even in my previously abused rescue dog (and that's saying a lot!) The clinic is conveniently located with easy in/out access on Bandera Rd...and wait times are minimal. They've been very helpful and managed to squeeze us in then unexpected happenings occur...and when your pet is hurting that really makes a difference. Thanks so much.

I recently had to euthanize my pet of 15 years. Dr. Meier and his associate came out to my home to put her to sleep and were very professional. They made what was an extremely difficult situation a lot easier on me.

Provided by SuperpagesI took my dog into this clinic and unfortunately he died while in their care. When the vet called me we discussed my options about and I chose to have my dog cremated. I was told it would take "3 or 4" days. I waited to hear from them for 3 weeks. When I called to inquire, I was told that in fact my dog had never been sent to the crematory because no one had told them what type of container to put him in. I was never asked this question. I was given my options and made the choice. I did not hear back for 2 weeks, so once again I called to inquire. I was treated rudely by the receptionist and she simply stated, well I left you a message". I was never called. When I went in to pick up the remains, I spoke to the receptionist and told them how disappointed I was with the process. She became argumentative with me and would not apologize for the mistakes made. Bottom line...if this is how they treat the animals after they die, how are they treated when they are alive in their care?

I took my senior cat to this vet for a respiratory problem. The first thing they wanted to do was bloodwork (very expensive) just because she was an older cat. They had stated it was standard procedure to do this on a senior cat whether it had any thing to do with her problem or not. I was given anti-biotics, which didn't help, and charged over $200 for the bloodwork which wasn't even necessary for her problem. A 20 minute session cost me over $250 with no resolution. They also took my cat into a different area and left me waiting in the exam room by myself. They didn't necessarily do any thing terrible or wrong, I just didn't get a comfortible feeling with them and I felt they were trying to get as much money out of me as possible. I went elsewhere for her follow-up and have decided not to got back to Leon Valley Veterinarian Hospital.

Office personnel were wonderful. I needed a Bordatello shot for our pup as my vet was closed and we were leaving our dog in a Doggie Spa for a few days. The girls took all the info and told me I could come right in as we were pressed for time. The young tech came out and she couldn't get the needle in our dog's neck so she gave it in the back. Our dog never even whimpers when our vet gives shots and if my husband hadn't been holding the dog's head she would have bit the girl. I really feel the girl needs a little more training both in giving shots and customer service. I hate to complain as the other girls were so pleasant and very helpful but this one really needed a attitude adjustment and more schooling.
Thanks
