Construction LitigationDuring his years of practice, Bill has served as Director of the School Law Section of the Texas Bar Association, a Director and then Chair of the Texas Association School Law Attorneys and was recently elected as a Director of the Texas Association of Community College Attorneys. Wrongful DeathGayla Corley is a Shareholder in Langley & Banack's San Antonio office. Since being licensed in 1994, Ms. Corley has been successfully engaged in the practice of general civil litigation and has, primarily, defended against claims for deceptive trade practices, harassment and discrimination, breach of contract, fraud, products liability, wrongful death/survival, personal injury, violations of the Texas Insurance Code and defamation. Her practice includes representation of diverse business concerns, including employers, insurance companies, banks, fiduciaries, healthcare providers and other private interests. Ms. Corley also has extensive experience in defending lawsuits in state and federal court and before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, the Texas Workforce Commission and the State Board for Educator Certification. As part of her professional endeavors, Ms. Corley is active in the San Antonio Bar Association and the Texas Association of Defense Counsel and periodically writes and presents CLE papers on ethics and litigation-related topics.
BankruptcyWilliam R. Davis, Jr., has a broad-based bankruptcy practice with an emphasis on the representation of consumer and business Debtors in and outside of bankruptcy. A particular emphasis of Mr. Davis' Debtor bankruptcy practice deals with the treatment of tax obligations owing to the Internal Revenue Service through bankruptcy. He deals with workouts and represents creditors such as Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. and Catholic Life Insurance in consumer and business bankruptcy cases throughout the state. Additionally, Mr. Davis is a frequent writer and lecturer at local and state bankruptcy courses.

Child SupportMoulton Dowler has a very broad-based civil practice with emphasis on family law and general litigation. Mr. Dowler’s family law practice has involved all aspects of family law, including divorce, enforcement of property division, enforcement of child support, and modification of custody and child support, as well as pre-marital agreements and post-marital agreements. Mr. Dowler has extensive experience in negotiating and litigating family law issues and also practices in the area of collaborative law. Corporate LawEmerson (Buddy) Banack, Jr., was admitted to practice law in 1965. He is a trial lawyer whose trial practice experience is extensive and varied. Mr. Banack has represented numerous governmental entities, corporations, businesses, individuals, physicians, lawyers, engineers and architects in malpractice cases, products liability cases, negligence cases and business litigation. During the last several years, he has practiced primarily in the field of business and corporate litigation and defense of large malpractice cases as well as anti-trust litigation. Due to the type of practice that Mr. Banack is currently engaged in, he represents both plaintiffs and defendants.
Mergers and Acquisitions
Business DisputesSince graduating from the University of Texas School of Law in 1972, Bill Armstrong has practiced law in San Antonio since October of 1973. In over forty years of legal practice, he has been involved in a varied litigation practice including a major anti-trust trial and appeal, the trial and appeal of two water rights law lawsuits representing landowners, will contests, and numerous contract disputes. For much of his career, there has been a focus on representing employers and in representing local governmental entities including school districts, Texas community college districts, counties, and municipalities. He has advised the various entities on issues involving the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Texas Public Information Act, Voting Rights Act, redistricting, bidding requirements for government contracts, disputes with employees, students, and parents as well as a myriad of other issues that these entities face. Many of the entities constitute some of the largest business organizations in the San Antonio area in terms of employees, construction budgets, and operating budgets. As a part of this representation, Bill has represented governmental entities in suits brought by employees, taxpayers, students, and contractors. He currently serves as the outside general counsel for the Alamo Community College District which has over 50,000 students at its five colleges. In the past three years, Bill has represented an oil field service provider in a DOL investigation of alleged underpayment of employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act, a municipal housing authority in a suit brought by a terminated chief operating officer, and many employee claims of discrimination or retaliation in employment before the EEOC and in state and federal courts.
Business TransactionsR. Glen Ayers is a bankruptcy lawyer who also represents clients in related areas, including secured transactions, state court receiverships, and commercial transactions. He frequently litigates in the federal bankruptcy courts and state courts, and has represented debtors in all chapters, including Chapter 9, creditors, committees and other parties in interest in very large and small cases. His bankruptcy practice is not confined to Texas, and he has represented clients in Ohio, California, Delaware, Maryland, The District of Columbia, and a number of other states. Mr. Ayers also acts as an arbitrator in domain name disputes under the ICANN domain name policies.
