        Classes start at $85 and this includes range fees. Private lessons start at $25 an hour. Texas law mandates the course be at least 10 hours and no more than 15 hours in length. During this time frame we will cover the NRA Basic Pistol course topics such as: basic pistol knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to safely use a pistol. You will get the NRA's The Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook and intensive lessons in safety, gun handling, the various types of pistols, the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship, and the modified isosceles firing position, several practical exercises on the firing range, cleaning, storage, and a summary of pistol sports and activities. You will take a NRA written exam and upon successful completion receive a NRA certificate. We will, also, cover the Texas Concealed Carry topics of eligibility requirements, weapons laws, license administration, non-violent dispute resolution, and use of force. You will, also, have to demonstrate a shooting proficiency and take a written exam. After successful completion you will receive a CHL-100 form that you will send into the state. You will need at least 70 rounds of the appropriate caliber of ammunition o At least 20 rounds for the NRA course and to get comfortable with the firearm o 50 rounds for the CHL shooting requirements (If you do fail we can arrange another time to shoot unless you bring an extra 50 rounds)
