A BIG DISAPOINTMENT!!!! This is the second time that I have eaten at Hung Fong. The first time I went the service was great... food was ok, after added soy sauce and other sauces to give it some flavor, We were not impress with the food. Had not been back for over a year.
With much hesitation we decided to give it another chance today and what a disappointment. The hot and sour soup was thick like pudding with no flavor. I ordered the Lo Mein Chicken and it was mushy,, soggy very bland, even after adding whatever sauces we could get. You couldn't even see the noodles because they mushed into the tasteless cream sauce . My friend ordered the General Chicken, and it was also mushy and the yellow fried rice...I have no words for that except its a pretty yellow color..
I have never taken the time to write a review but felt I need to warn people not to waste their time and money this place is a BIG DISAPOINTMENT!!! I should have listen to the reviews we read but had to learn the hard way. We will never go back... Don't understand why they are still in business. We did mention our disappointment when we paid but they did not seem to care..

This restaurant used to be weekly family favorite, but the quality has gone down - rice is sometimes under-cooked, ingredients that are supposed to be crisp are soggy, etc. Time for new management?

Provided by SuperpagesThe quality and quantity of food you get for the price is pretty good. My one complaint about this restaurant is that service seems to have gone down a bit in recent years. If you dine by yourself don't expect to be treated with the amount of respect that is given a party of 2 or more. You're seen as a "bother". At lunch time they also rush you through as quick as possible.

Provided by SuperpagesMy Hunan Style Fried Rice was entirely too hot!!!!!!! I've ordered it twice before for pick up and it wasn't that hot at all. I expressed my concern to my waitress and basically she said "well it's HUNAN rice if you don't like spicy you should not have ordered it." I explained to her that I had it twice before within the last two weeks and it wasn't that spicy at all. It tasted as if they had SMOTHERED it in RED PEPPER. I couldn't even breathe. I looked around to see if anyone else had it and no one did. I was definitely going to poll the customers that did have it to get their thoughts, but outta luck. Please note I eat serrano peppers by itself. So that gives you an idea on how spicy hot it was. Not sure how they were rated #1 in San Antonio, there are much better places to eat with greater QUALITY SERVICE AND FOOD!!!!!!!

Provided by SuperpagesNo doubt this place has lost its touch. The food arrived cold when we send it back, it had been (obviously) zapped! The quality was very poor.
