BracesThat's why, at New Image Dentistry in San Antonio, Dr. Holland offers Invisalign clear braces. Invisalign lets image-conscious patients have the confident, dazzling smile they’ve always dreamed of. Using a series of clear acrylic aligners that apply gentle pressure to your teeth, you can gradually straighten your smile in just 12 to 18 months. And what’s more, because Invisalign’s aligners are removable, you can take them out to eat, brush, floss, and even for special occasions, like a dinner out with friends, an important business meeting, or a special family event.family, and we're constantly pursuing new and better ways to make that happen.
OrthodonticsA beautiful smile can be a great asset. Studies have shown that men and women with dazzling smiles are perceived as happier, more confident, and more attractive. What’s more, a straight smile can also go hand-in-hand with better oral health. So what can you do if you’re an adult and you’re not satisfied with your smile? Especially when any thought of orthodontics conjures up images of teenagers wearing bracket and wire braces. You’ve invested a lot in your image and the last thing you want to do is commit to years of traditional orthodontics.
Invisalign OrthodonticsGetting started with Invisalign is easy. After you’ve talked to Dr. Holland, you’ll just need to come in to our San Antonio office to have an impression of your smile taken. Invisalign will then make your aligners using this and your detailed treatment plan as a guide. Once your aligners are ready and you’ve picked them up from our San Antonio office, you’ll just need to wear each pair of aligners for about two weeks. As you do, your smile will gradually be moved into its correct alignment. But your first step is calling our office to schedule your consultation visit with Dr. Holland. During that time we’ll be able to talk with you about how treatment works and we can answer any questions you might have.

BridgesIf you've lost teeth due to accident, injury, or gum disease, we can create a fixed bridge to restore your solid smile. A bridge not only fills the gap, but it also prevents repositioning of remaining teeth. It can also correct a misaligned bite, improve chewing function and speech articulation, and provide internal structure for the face to give you a more youthful appearance.
Dental BondingIf you have a chipped, slightly misaligned, or otherwise imperfect tooth that needs cosmetic restoration, we may suggest one-appointment bonding. The dentist will apply tooth-colored composite resin, shaded to blend with your tooth’s color, to rebuild a pleasing shape to your tooth. After hardening the resin with a curing light, the dentist will artistically sculpt and polish the restoration. In just one visit, you can enjoy a beautiful new smile! Cosmetic bonding can be a viable, affordable alternative to porcelain veneers, but it lasts only 5 to 10 years with proper care. Bonding will not discolor as your natural tooth enamel will, so touch-up teeth whitening may be required to keep your natural teeth the same shade as the bonded area.
FillingsIf you're embarrassed about your smile because of decay or dark fillings in your teeth, you may be a good candidate for tooth-colored fillings. Tooth-colored fillings, or composite resins, can restore teeth to an attractive, healthy state. Composite resins represent several advantages over traditional silver or amalgam fillings.
Resin CompositeBecause composite resins are not made of metal, we can blend and mix shades to find the perfect color to match your natural teeth. This means only you and your dentist will know you have fillings. Another pro is that the tooth/composite bond actually supports the remaining tooth structure, deterring breakage and insulating against temperature changes. Medium and small composites can last seven to ten years – that’s as long as traditional amalgams. Best of all, composite resins allow us to keep more of your natural tooth structure intact than amalgams. We believe in conservative dentistry – the more natural tooth structure you keep, the better teeth you’ll likely have in the future.
VeneersIf you’re not happy with the look of your smile, change it! Our San Antonio dental practice offers porcelain veneers that can mask flaws, as well as straighten and whiten your teeth in a single procedure. Porcelain veneers provide an instant transformation and dramatic results for a smile you’ll love!
CrownsYou have a big filling that needs replacement. Do you have to get a full crown? Not necessarily. A more conservative option, inlays and onlays fit into a tooth similar to a filling, yet they are milled restorations, much like a crown. The bumps on top of a tooth are called cusps. Inlays fit between cusps, while onlays fit over one or more cusps. Inlays and onlays allow a patient to retain more natural tooth structure, which is always best.
Root Canal Treatment
DenturesA smile just isn't a smile if it's incomplete. Missing teeth cause a host of problems, from difficulty speaking and eating to low self-confidence to jawbone deterioration. Don't give up on your smile. Advances in dental materials and technology have made full and partial dentures more lifelike and comfortable than ever.
OverdenturesDental implants can replace individual teeth or anchor a bridge, denture, or partial. Dr. Holland can place implants for many styles of replacement teeth, including overdentures ( implant-retained dentures ). As an experienced general dentist, he will provide information and education you need to make a wise choice about the type of implants that are best for your situation, and oversee your implant placement process from start to finish.

Teeth CleaningEver heard the phrase, “you’ve gotta be cruel to be kind?” It has never been truer than when referring to gum disease treatments. Periodontal disease affects as much as 80% of US adults, but the way dental practitioners handle periodontal treatments may be part of the problem. Patients avoid periodontal treatment due to lack of treatment urgency, not fully understanding necessary treatments, and money. Many dentists hesitate to fully explain and recommend periodontal therapy because they fear patients will simply cancel appointments due to the added cost. Instead, dentists tend to try the “nice” approach – recommending periodontal appointments every three months but billing them as regular dental cleanings during six month checkups. However, by changing the focus of periodontal disease treatment to communicating clearly, emphasizing assessment and prevention, and working with patients to maximize insurance benefits, dentists can better equip patients to receive the dental care they need.
Oral Cancer Screening
Dental ExaminationTake them to regular dental examinations. Unless you’re a licensed dentist, you won’t be able to tell whether or not your child has an infection or disease inside their mouth. Some symptoms never show at all. Your dentist is the only one who can properly diagnose and eradicate bacteria or an infection. It saves your child future pain and doesn’t keep them away from the classroom.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Oral SurgeryLasers have transformed medical surgery by offering minimally-invasive alternatives to traditional scalpel incisions and sutured closures. The laser's intense, narrow wavelength has precise, predictable, and powerful reactions when it contacts soft tissues of the body. Laser light is extremely efficient, producing very little heat as it acts on its target. This makes it ideal for oral surgery, since it seldom affects tissues other than those it targets. The laser provides precise control over the depth and extent of cutting, while simultaneously minimizing bleeding and sterilizing the treatment area.
