Overall

Only reason I gave this braid shop a one is because they were friendly and on time but other wise I would not recommend this business. I have been getting braids for over 15 years and I am always afraid of changing braiders but I was looking to do just that and a friend had long synthetic braids done and swore while she was there all the braids she saw being done were beautiful but mine are NOT. It was rushed and when she made a 1:30 pm appointment it seemed like she rushed even more. Omy also knew I was a first time customer so I would have thought she would have done a better job. I couldn't initially tell it wasn't braided past my natural hair because mousse and gel had already been applied but by time I got home OMG it was a bush in the back. I was able to correct some of them but it was too many to do. I have natural hair and any true braider do not have to be told to braid past the natural hair. I will have to wear it up for the two months if I keep these braids but I think I will get them redone before that by Nubian Princess. I may not like all the breaks they take or how long it takes but I have never been disappointed and yes I left them a review on google.

I never go back to a shop because I know it's always a risk going to a new place but I always wright a review good or bad. If you have expectations don't use this braid shop or check before you give up your money because they get the money before completing your braids

Terrible, terrible, terrible

I came here to get a sew-in done. They charge $150 which is fair in a way. The service is horrible as far a customer service. As she made it to braiding the top of my hair, I was about to faint. My hair was so tight I could not think. Mind you, I always have my hair in micro braids so I am far from tender headed. I complained ( please loosen the top please ) I swear I felt like life was coming to a end. She loosen the braids and tighten them back so tight. I just said I will try to deal with this. I finished and the sew-in looked like a mess. I figured I paid all this money. Not to mention the deny hair was $325 so I went home very unhappy. As I thought it could not get any worse. I felt tender pain in the middle of my head. I ask my husband to look and she if the braids where still pulling my scalp. He saw sores. I was so scared. I booked a appointment at creations beauty salon and paid to have the sew-in removed. I was going to get a wash and style from creations but she said it would not be wise until the sores heal. I will never ever go there again. I would not send my enemy there. If you was smart please it's for your health. Stay away from this shop. It's been a little over a month and I am going to try godess of adjia hair braiding. I hope my hair turn out okay. The reviews are pretty fair. Good luck

HORRIBLE TERRIBLE RUDE

I would not send my dog there! Please read my story....

I went in for invisible braids. The stylist that speak English ignored me. When I told her I haf hair she REFUSED to use my hair which was better quality. The braids were so TIGHT. I told her and she began speaking French. It gets worse she used her hair and the hair did not curl!!!!! I called her that night and she said" oh he sold me bad her I will give u $50.00." I said no you will redo my hair with what I bought! She refused. I came in for my $50.00 then asked her how much is it for her to take my braids out. She said $75.00!!! That way she gets her $50.00 and an extra 25.00. That night I could not sleep. Braids got tighter and tighter. Another African shop took it out for 25.00 and said " who braid your hair so tight?" My head hurt for weeks with a red scalp. Mya's on Austin Hwy is so much better!!!! Open on Sunday and very customer service oriented.

Great Job and No Pain

I went to the Heidi JoJo San Antonio, TX on 3201 Wurzbach Rd (located in the Ingram Plaza). I really enjoyed the experience very professional and the sisters from the mother land are just great. No waiting, no loud music or noise, no profanity, great customer service. The price was great also $150.00 dollars and up depending on the style. The place is clean and tidy. If you want professional braids with no pain then I suggest that stop by and give these sisters an opportunity to do your hair. I drove 5 hrs from the Rio Grande Valley area to get my hair done I must say it was worth the drive. And they are open sometimes on Sundays by appointment wow I just couldn't believe that. These sisters are serious about business.

Unsatisfied

Terrible! The stylists are rude, and children are running around playing in the salon the whole time. My stylist was on the phone with personal calls the majority of the time, and then abruptly took a lunch break and just left me sitting. Also, it wasn't long after I got my hair done that the braids began to slide. She also failed to tell me that they only take cash payment. What a disaster!

I would definitely recommend

My first experience with Heidi&JoJo's was in Htown i.e. Houston Texas. There were two ladies braiding my hair at the same time !!!!!!!!! They were fast and I loved the style. The style I got was an A line braided bob. As far as I know, they don't cut hair. Before I went to the salon, my friend shaved the back of my head. I got a lot of complements on my bob. I did'nt know when I was going to be back in Houston. So you can imagine my excitement when they built a location in S.A. i.e. San Antonio Texas. There are two locations in San Antonio . There is one on Wuzbach and the other on Walzem. I frequent the one on Walzem. The atmosphere is laid back. The place is always clean and air conditioned. If this is your first time getting your hair braided, I would recommend visiting the salon prior to making an appointment . This will give you an opportunity to check out some the styles and get some suggestions on what hair is best suited for the style you want . I don't know how much the hair is at the salon but you can purchase your own hair and bring it in for them to use. Depending on the style you want, you might be there for up to eight hours. They have a television so time does tend to go by fast. Eat before you get there and bring a snack. In the end,it is time well invested.
