Overall

Worst experience I've ever had. "DAVID" didn't have me wash my hands until he was ready to buff my nails after soaking my nails in remover, removing tip, grinding off the old acrylic. He even put the new tip and the new acrylic over the dust, remover still on the nail. He cut my fingers 9 times - once so badly that it bled and he had to stop to put antiseptic on it. (3 days later I had 9 scabs, including 2 on the finger that was cut so badly.) He left my fingers too long, even after I asked him to cut the tip down more TWICE. He left the edges so rough and long that when I was washing my hands- finally before he was ready to put cream and buff the nails - and after repeated times of my sayng I needed to wash the burning remover off my skin, that I actually scratched my hands. The manager was aware how badly he had done and when the manager passed me at the basin, I turned to him and said "don't you think he needs to fix these?" I'm sure when I ran my fingers down his forearm, he had scrapes or scratches because he yelled in discomfort and he turned to "DAVID" and said something in Vietnamese and "DAVID" started trying to fix the length and the roughness. When I had time to look at my nails later on, I realized the matching fingers (index to index, etc) were different lengths and even several nails weren't even straight. As the weeks have gone by and new growth from my own nails is starting to show, I see that most of the tips weren't even big enough and new growth shows on sides of the tips and even on the part where only acrylic is, there is natural nail grown on the sides. So, I had to file them down myself - the length. Nothing to be done until I go back to CITY BASE NAILS, my regular salon and have one of three manicurists there do my nails right. The manager didn't even comp my visit at Da Vi because of all that "DAVID" did to me. Now, about 3 weeks later, I have black lines and dots in the pink area of at least 4 nails. I'm sure it's fungus. That sucks because I've never had fungus on any nail and then to have it all because a friend recommended the place. I should have walked out when I saw he wasn't even doing any hygiene and after the bleeding occurred. Now, I'm dealing with my not doing what I should have done..... to have waited til I could get back to City Base Nails and have my nails done right and cleanly. I wouldn't have gone through David's torture that day, my having to fix my nails myself over the first week and now having issues that may cost me not being able to have solars for a while as well as the health issues with fungus. I can't rate the manicurist or the salon low enough because it requires at least 1 star. If I could I'd put a -3 starss or worse. A friend works at that walmart and she said, 'I've heard horror stories that have come from experiences at that nail shop. If I had known you were thinking about having your nails done there, I would have told you to not go there." If you aren't in to pain, bleeding, poor service and hygiene, by all means it's the place but if you want good service, no pain, hygiene and professionalship, go elsewhere. My recommendation: CITY BASE NAILS on Military DR in front of Brooks City Base Entrance.
