Orchard Lake Campground

There is no way I could give this place less than 5 stars. It has all I ever dreamed of when going camping. This review is under the eye of a 1st time camper. Maybe for someone who knows many places can give it a different star level. In my case as a 1st time camper I was looking for alot of things. 1st that my first experience with husband and kids would make us fall in love with tent camping. 2nd that we would feel safe in all ways, not scared of a bear coming up in the middle of the night or be around weired people. 3rd but not least that it would have many activities that would keep us entertanied the whole weekend even if it rained. Well it satisfied all 3 points mentioned. It is a family friendly place , pet friendly, you feel near nature but without having to sacrifice comfort. It has a store where you can buy anything you forget. 2 lakes, one for swimming and one for fishing, kayaks, paddle boats, zip line, field for soccer, baseball, volleyball, a zone for kids to bike, skate, swings and other things I did not have time to do.

MY MOTHER TURNED US ON TO THIS AWESOME CAMP GROUND.WE HAVE BEEN THERE MORE THAN ONCE AND A GREAT TIME EACH AND EVERY TIME.THE LAKES ARE SMALL,BUT BEAUTIFUL AND FULL OF FISH.THERE ARE DIFFERENT KINDS OF BOATS FOR YOUR TASTE,MINI GOLF,AND LOTS OF THINGS FOR YOUR ACTIVE CHILDREN.THE CABINS ARE GREAT AND THE TENT SITES ARE VERY NICE.THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THE PLACE ARE VERY KIND AND ANIMALS ARE WELCOME.WE FELT VERY SAFE THERE,BUT STILL BACK WITH NATURE.WHEN ITS DARK? IT'S DARK!! THE STARS ARE AMAZING!

THE CAMP IS CLOSE ENOUGH TO CHIMNEY ROCK FOR A VISIT IN LAKE LURE.THE MOUNTAINS ARE BEAUTIFUL AND THE BLUE RIDGE PARK WAY ,SLIDING ROCK AND OTHER GREAT SITES TO SEE ARE IN DRIVING DISTANCE.THERE ARE MANY QUAINT PLACES TO STOP FOR A BITE IN SEVILLE OR HENDERSONVILLE WHICH IS VERY CLOSE BY AND HAS HISTORIC SITES SUCH AS CARL SANDBURGS HOME.

ALL IN ALL THE CAMP GROUND WAS A GREAT PLACE TO BE AND VERY QUIET DURING THE WEEK.IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR RELAXATION OR JUST A FUN FAMILY GET AWAY THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE! AND IF YOU LIKE I ACCIDENTLY DUMP YOUR MOTHER -IN-LAW INTO THE LAKE......WELL LETS HOPE SHE HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR LIKE MINE DID ROFL !!!!



P.S. THE PEACOCKS ON THE ROAD TO THE CAMP WAS A THRILL!!!!!
