Overall

I've been living here for 3 years. This place is definitly not the cleanest of places. Dumpsters are usually always overfilled. Excess trash than ends up on the streets because of all the kids running around playing in it. Cops are usually always called every other night. One thing I did like was that it was in the middle of both Slcc and my work. Their fees are pretty crazy. They say they give you a discount on rent for every month you pay on time. If you don't they charge you that discount $100 and a late fee $75 - $125. Their pool is usually always murky and dirty. On top of that the management is not really willing to work with you. I had a family emergency and was not able to make rent. I tried to contact them during the summons process and they denied my payment. Now their attorney won't accept payments. They want me to pay $600 to stay until 10/21 and I would still have to leave.

My fiance and i have lived at ...

Crime, drugs, and bad Management DON'T BE FOOLED.My fiance and i have lived at Somerset Village for 1 year and it was the worst year at that! when we got there it seemed great, like all new things do. We placed in a work order to have a few things fixed like lights cabinet and door locks, it took them over 8 months to reply back to use just to tell us it has to be written then they can do something( that was never told to us) and now that our lease is over they still have not fixed anything. the maintenance there is terrible!! always asking us for inappropriate (white hookers)and illegal things(drugs). the staff i have to say there was only one person in the entire office who was nice to us. the others especially the manager and regional manager were rude, careless, and impolite. as far as the neighbors they are loud, always knocking on your door at all hours of the night, and always taking your car port. the laundry room is basically a spot for people to get high in, they don't even work and if they do its not very well. i had to use the laundry mat to clean all my cloths. Safe HA its the least bit safe!! my car got broken into and they didn't do anything. Their so called "security" doesn't do anything. If you call the police station they will tell you Somerset is very popular! All in all Somerset looked nice at first but we cant wait to get out! DO NOT LIVE AT SOMERSET VILLAGE APARTMENTS!!

This is the WORST apartment complex. The staff is the most unprofessional and downright rude people i have ever met. Very incompetent and can't get their work done in a timely manner. If i could give this less than a one star i would. Do NOT move in here!!!!

Overall

Seriously, I'd give this apartment less than 1 star if it would let me. In all the apartments I have ever lived in, these guys win for the worst customer service. This apartment reeks of corporate property management.

The office staff is always friendly and appear to be competent. Don't let them fool you. Although they are very good at easing your troubles on a face to face level, the only one who has any sense of what's going on is the manager, and you will rarely see him around.

#1) Make sure that you keep EVERY document given to you upon signing the release. And be aware, just because you sign a lease for a certain amount of time, if you don't give them EXACTLY 60 days notice prior to your move out date, you will not only be held accountable for rent at the "going rate" (not the "sale" that they probably sign you on for), but are also charged an additional $120/month to go on the month-to-month date. Weird. I was pretty sure when I signed a 9 month contract, that my contract would end in 9 months...not so! Oh and don't count on them to have any mercy. Here's where they use the corporate excuse that they can't do anything about it because they're legally contracted to abide. (BS...they choose which parts of the contract they want to live by).

#2: Take lots and lots of pictures and make sure you fill out your check-in sheet with lots of details. Keep a copy. If you don't think it's worth the minimum $150 that they charge to clean, touch up paint, and wash the carpets, reconsider. Seriously. There were 2 of us...both adults...rarely home. We spent 10 hrs cleaning. It looked better when we left than it did when we moved in. 1 month later we get the bill: $50 for touch up paint, $50 for carpet cleaning, $50 unit cleaning, $45 for replacement blinds (NEVER touched), and $10 for drip pans. BS if I ever heard it.

#3: There is no on site security. Never saw them once in the whole year we wound up being there. The gates are NEVER closed. Thank goodness, because our key cards never worked on the 5 times that they did close. Called the office to have them fixed, the girl didn't know who to do it. Called in again to talk to someone else. They "took care of it". Still didn't work. Yet I'm sure they get to raise monthly rent by claiming to be a gated community.

#4 Both of our cars were broken into.

#5 HORRIBLE customer service skills.

#6 Worst electrical wiring ever. Don't plan on having more than one device plugged into an outlet.

#7 Nothing gets done. Our AC was out for 3 weeks. We called them three times. They apparently visited, although there was no evidence of it. The day we moved out we were finally notified that the unit didn't work and another one was on order. No AC, 2nd floor apartment, horrible ventilation, 3 digit weather. Thank you management.

#7: Crappy amenities. Accessing the gym and pool after hours is always a feat anyways, as the lock on the gate is so loose, the key never works quite right. If you decide it's worth it to jiggle around the lock for ten minutes in the cold and do venture in, prepare for disappointment. The two treadmills in the gym never worked right. The heating system in the "heated pool" works about %50 of the time. The jacuzzi is a spa for bacteria.

Overall; Over-priced, horrible customer service, corporate management. DON'T MOVE IN!!
