Saint John Lutheran Church

While we love everything about St. John Lutheran School (SJLS), the aspects that are most notable in my descriptions to others are two: (1) the truly loving relationship between the teachers and the students, and (2) the visible and unapologetic faith-based core of the program. The SJLS staff works as a body, and this is apparent to anyone who takes the time to notice. Thanks to the SJLS staff, my daughter LOVES school. Miss Dawn's and Miss Kelly’s enthusiasm makes all the difference: it’s no secret that the earliest encouragements sink deepest and last longest. They have nurtured within my daughter a natural craving for and love of learning, and this is a foundation that will serve her well throughout her life. Additionally, they have made character development and faith priorities over accomplishment, and this shows in the way the kids interact with each other, with adults, and with both simple and complex challenges. I finally have to share something that moved me beyond compare: SLJS posted my daughter's picture on a pew in the chapel, and congregants who were seated in viewing distance were asked to pray for her each week. As a single mom, it is blessing to know that my prayers for my daughter are not alone. Thank you, SJLS staff, and thank you, God, for steering us to the arms of St. John Lutheran School.
