They suck there was no one waiting they told me they had no time to look at my dog who has an eye infection. They were too busy yet empty waiting room and one car on the parking lot. To me it was the lazy office staff You would think they care about animals. I would not recommend.

Avoid Majchrzak!!!! Our dog has gone to this clinic since we adopted her many years ago. It is estimated that she is about 18 years of age which is longer than the life expectancy of dogs her size. As pet owners, we have only had this doctor group so what a shame it is that I leave with the experience that I did today. True we were due back to visit the office in September 2013 and it is January 3, 2014. We were late for our routine visit by 3 months but my dog has lived longer than anyone would have guessed so I suspected that our one-way visit was going to be soon. Yet our Maggie is still eating, drinking and having a good quality of life....except we noticed in the snow this morning bright red blood. We watched her and saw it was bloody urine. She is continent so without the snow we may not have noticed. As a registered nurse I know that it may be as simple as a bladder infection but it is also possible that it is cancer. I did not want to put Maggie to sleep if a trial dose of antibiotics could give us a little more quality of life together. Because our dog is terrified of car rides, I did not want to put her through that stress. I know we are looking at the inevitable soon even if I am not ready today or next month....it is coming. I want her to die in a quiet and peaceful place and am trying to prepare for that if I have any control. I owe her that for the years of joy, love and companionship she has given our family. In medicine we can do video chat and even long distance surgeries so I took a video of my dog and went to see the doctor. I was not asking him to do anything illegal nor unethical in this situation as he accused me. I think I now understand why Maggie is so terrified of car rides---this is the only place we take her in the car! I was horrified by the attitude of Dr. Majchrzak and agree with the previous posts of his obnoxious, uncaring and loud traits. All my years as a nurse I have never been so poorly spoken to by a doctor and I had even offered to pay him for the visit. I am glad that I did not take her to him....I do not want him to be the last person to touch her! He certainly is not gentle nor a healer! Sometimes animals are smarter than people. Dr. Majchrzak took me in a room conveniently located near the reception area, leaving the door open and spoke so the entire clinic could hear. I even asked him to lower his voice but that made him laugh. I guess there is no HIPPA law in veterinary medicine but human decency should be expected when you are a customer. Dr. Majchrzak spoke down to me....even told me that I was irresponsible as a dog owner because they have not seen her recently. I remained calm and professional throughout his rant. He stated what if the antibiotics would cause a problem....so the unspoken was he was worried about legal stuff when I was worried about my dog. Expensive end-of-life care is not needed. The treatment will be the same.....antibiotics may buy us a little time, adverse effects of antibiotics may quicken the inevitable or antibiotics may not work at all--either way my dog is going to die soon. I do not want Maggie to be in pain if I can help her and I know bladder infections are painful. He did not even acknowledge this. I came seeking care but left in a worse condition. I told him that he needed empathy training as I walked out the door without paying. The only good thing I have to say about my visit today was the receptionist gave me the name of a vet who will come to the house--this woman who is likely the least paid staff member seemed to really care and I want her to know the positive difference she made to me.....seems animal care is as challenged as our own health care system. We pay someone for many years and when we need them the most then they are not there. I regret all the referrals that I have sent

I cannot praise Lemay Animal Hospital enough. I moved relatively close in 1999, and have been taking my 2 cats and 1 dog there ever since. The doctors are all amazing. Dr. Majchrzak is boisterous, funny, kind, and willing to take the time to explain exactly what is going on so that you can understand and make informed decisions. Dr. Taff is quiet, kind, compassionate, and clearly dedicated to his work and his patients. Dr. McCord is funny, kind, dedicated, and devoted to his patients. I have seen all three doctors, and have been happy with all three. In the past year, I have had to put both cats, and my dog to sleep. Dr. Majchrzak put my first cat to sleep, and could not have been more kind, caring, and compassionate. Dr. Taff put both my second cat and my dog to sleep, and he was also amazing, compassionate, caring. They both gave me time by myself, after my babies were gone, to hold them and grieve a bit.

While my babies were alive, these three took the best care of them that I have ever had from vets. In addition to the stellar care, they are amazingly reasonably priced. I rave about this place to anyone who will listen. The building is old and not fancy, but if you want vets that will care about your pets and you, and will give you top notch care at a reasonable price, don't go anywhere else.

they are the kindest clinic/an...

they are the kindest clinic/animal hospital i have been to in the metro area---and i have searched. i moved here in 92, had an old dachshound (16) who died in 95; i got a min pin named viva---i also adopted an abused puppy named riley---christmas of 2010 and he died on christmas night---dr mccord not only went in christmas eve late to check on him and then call me---he went twice on christmas and called--riley died at 5PM; the charge for all that very special care? $152; he also waited past closing to revaccinate my older dog, viva; this morning after much achingly hard decision making i brought viva in for her final trip---i was beside myself and they were so kind and compassionate---dr mccord left me with her so i had some time---i saw her leave---it was very very hard but i had her 17 years----all good ones----soooo point being---you need to go out to the county perhaps where its very sterile with cold steel and glass, everyone dresses alike and work by appointment only---for me and the loves of my life---i want the caring clinic---i just feel they should charge more for ytheir very special care

Cheap and crappy

If you are looking for a cheap place to take your pets, then this may be the place for you. If you are looking for a caring place to take your pets, keep looking.

While Drs. Taff and McCord are OK, Dr. Majchrzak is just loud, obnoxious, and uncaring.

My dog had to have surgery a few years back. Majchrzak performed the surgery. When I went to pick up my dog after the surgery, he sent in a vet tech to talk to me. When I asked to talk to Majchrzak, the tech said he was busy and there was no need to talk to him.

My dog developed an infection after surgery and I called the hospital to see about brining him in to be seen. I explained the problem to the receptionist, who put me on hold to talk to Majchrzak. He told the receptionist to tell me there was no need to bring my dog in. A couple of days passed and my dog was getting worse. I called back and again talked to the receptionist, who said Majchrzak wasn't there and talked to Dr. Taff, who said to bring my dog in. Come to find out my dog was pretty sick with infection and Taff prescribed meds to take care of it.

If you're really pinching pennies and need to go to this vet, try to see Taff or McCord. Avoid Majchrzak!
