I don't know how this place does it! I lived in Soulard for 2 years a few years back and this was the place where my friends and I would always hang out. I came back to St. Louis for a visit after moving away to Vegas and stopped in to check things out. And let me tell you, they've still got it!!! Great drink prices, great food that ""Johnny Rocker"" is still cookin up, and a really cool staff!!! I will make sure to stop in every time I'm home for a visit

I have been coming to Big Daddy's for about a year now. Always at night or on the week-ends. My friends have always had a great time and have always felt safe. It is one of my favorite Soulard stops. You can't even begin to understand how amazed I was at their dinner specials. I went on a Thursday night and got a filet, about 8 oz, loaded baked potato, steamed veggies, and a salad for $8!!! I thought the drinks were cheap. To top it off, it was absolutely fricking delicious, but you still get the same great service you get every other time. i have already told my dad about it.

No matter what this place has enough people to be fun. I been here during snow storms and workers show up from other bars. It must be the DJs. They always seem to have our songs to dance or Karaoke to on Tuesdays.\r \r I like the party they have on the weekends! I was shocked when I came in during the day and it was a restaurant. Who knew! The happy hour was a great time with no DJs :( but tasty treats at half priced.

No cover on the weekends makes this are usual first destination. Start the night with buckets and bomb shots.\r \r Went to a charity benefit up stairs a couple times. Bring cans of food or coats and get a drink discount. They had a buffet with nice wings, cheese sticks and fried pickles.\r \r I do not even try to order drinks at the packed first floor bar. I go upstairs or outside.\r \r I also get an extra drinking night on the week I was born. Thursday they celebrate everyones birthday from that week and allow them to drink for free. Free celebration is always welcome during that week.

In this historic bar the Monday through Friday happy hour till 7 is the big draw. Half priced appitizers, beer buckets and oversized shots have won over people for years. The best night being Tuesday for half priced burgers then Karaoke.\r \r During happy hour Big Daddy's Soulard is a hangout bar with a large beer garden and upstairs lounge during the week. It is the place to meet friends and catch a shuttle to a Cardinals or Rams game. Also, I can show visitors what a St. Louis neighborhood bar looks like after the A-B tour. The guests can be amazed at how A-B products are disapppearing out of ice buckets. The half-priced appitizers are really great drinking food.\r \r The weekend nights can get overpacked with very young people.

Typical midwestern club with lots of guys sporting Mark Mcquire goatees and baseball caps with torn edges and a bill that looks like they wrapped around a tin can with rubberbands to get that perfect ""my father beat me and I want to take it out on you"" look. I don't know what their food tastes like but I highly recommend going across the street to Morgan Street Brewery.

Big Daddy's offers a free shuttle to games, has a nice patio, and decent drink specials on occassion. The food is typical bar food. Big Daddy's is a drinking bar. Parking is street only and it is located in a residential area. It's very possible you will have to park a couple of blocks away. The later the crowd, the rowdier the crowd. By the end of the night it is not uncommon to see people urinating on their way back to their car, needing assistance because they have overindulged, or attemting to start fights. However, it can be a fun spot to go to before a game, get a bite to eat, and have the shuttle drop you off at the entrance to the stadium. It has it's good points and bad. Just depends on the crowd.

I'VE READ THE OTHER REVIEWS AND THEY MUST BE VERY PICKY BUT I HAVE FOUND THE WINGS TO BE PLUMP (THEY ARE NOT FROM PIGEONS - THEY ARE BIG AND MEATY) CRISPY ON THE OUTSIDE AND JUICY ON THE INSIDE. THE STEAK SANDWHICH WHICH I HAVE ORDERED TWICE HAS BEEN TASTY, COOKED TO MY REQUESTED DONESS, AND THE HOAGY BUN WAS AS FRESH AS CAN BE. MAYBE I APPRECIATE THE BARFOOD BECASUE I AM A NON DRINKER. I GUESS I'D RATHER EAT MY DINNER THAN DRINK IT. BIG DADDY'S ALSO HAS A GREAT OUTDOOR DINING AREA. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

Don't be confused by the name. The food is bar food, that's it. You're not going to get some great prime rib, or an awesome filet. It is a great 20-something, early 30's bar. Big Daddy's is perfect for a Saturday night out - but bear in mind this place gets crowded! If you're planning on going, go early. Best time to arrive is before 10, and leave around 11:00 if you're pub crawling. If it is your only spot, you might want to show up a bit earlier than 10 so you can get a table.
