Overall

My Name is Travis Hester. SP #5602 from Yuba City, CA. I was an employee for On Trac Delivery Services/CA Overnight of Sacramento, CA and My Critical Express.I was homeless living in their company van in winter from November to January for which time the company kept telling me that my sacrifices would pay off in the long-run. That I was their company family and they would take care of me if I worked hard enough for them. I worked 12 to 18 hour shifts nearly EVERY day. No lunch or other breaks were given. This went on at times for weeks without a single day off. Once my checks reached $800 the supervisor Tom Sayles told me that my checks are going to have fuel deductions because he couldn't afford his company gas bills. This employer knew my situation from day one when he hired me. Said that I'm the perfect fit for the job position. However, on my employment application I identified myself as a twice convicted felony. He pointed this out, and said that I can never speak about that if I want to keep my job. He told me that he'd have to FAKE my background check so that he could get me TSA/Homeland Security clearance to handle air freight and enter restricted government buildings(US Post Office, CA Dept. of Education, County Sheriff's Offices, among others). I was homeless and desperate so I reluctantly accepted the job. Now, after all those lonely days in the van(cold and hungry and depressed and suffering) they are refusing to pay my overtime hours that I was promised to eventually get paid. I slaved for them day in and day out. They let me go saying they had no work for me to do. Told me to hold onto the van because I was still employed. But a week later they asked for the keys. Once they got the keys they changed all their phone numbers, don't respond to my emails, and even closed and moved their office. It took three weeks to get my last check and it included none of the pay I was owed previously. Not even reimbursement for the fuel deductions I was to get back. Had actually took fuel cost from my checks, then upon visiting the gas stations we used I found out that he had never made any payments towards the company fuel account.

Please, contact me if you are looking to resolve/discuss these and other issues.
