Access IDEA is a special education advocacy service. Founder and Advocate, Lynn Dalton, has 15+ years experience as a K-12 teacher and 10+ years as a Special Education Advocate focusing on students with mental health disabilities. Lynn provides support and advocacy services for your child through every stage of the special education process from referral/evaluation to implementation, review and transition. Lynn can help you navigate through the entire process or portions of it as needed.

Free 15 minute consultation ! Assist in the Special Education process, including attending and advocating during referral and evaluation conferences, eligibility sessions, and 504 and IEP planning, writing and review meetings, and placement in the least restrictive environment discussions.Suggest possible educational and/or clinical areas to investigate based on the unique needs of your child and provide referrals to appropriate providers. Examine test results and school records to determine whether further assessment and/or changes to your child's education plan are necessary.Develop measurable goals and objectives and appropriate accommodations and modifications to enable your child to access the general curriculum. Suggest accommodations, modifications and services to add to your child's existing IEP or 504 plan to improve success in school.Prepare documentation to support the program your child needs. Monitor progress and request program modifications, as needed, during annual reviews of your child's IEP or 504.Review placement to determine the Least Restrictive Environment for your child.Investigate and explore alternative educational placement, if necessary.Attend and advocate for your child in Manifestation Determination Reviews.Prepare for and help facilitate mediation. Services are by hourly rate, billed by the quarter hour, with a minimum 10 hour initial retainer to thoroughly review child's records, discuss parent's concerns and goals, and to prepare for the first meeting wiht the school..
