Established in 1967, the Cuyahoga County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities provides a range of early intervention programs for children and their families. It also offers leisure programs for senior citizens. The Cuyahoga County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities operates early childhood centers, schools, adult activities centers and group homes. It provides psychological, support administration, quality assurance, respite care and supported living services. The board also offers vocational training, community employment, rehabilitation engineering and crisis intervention services. The Cuyahoga County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities additionally provides speech, language, occupational and physical therapy services. It offers psychological support, behavioral treatment, family counseling and human sexuality education programs. The board also offers transportation services through buses and contracted vendors.
