Carpal Tunnel SyndromeThere are many different causes of chronic pain. Such as pain from headaches, joint pain, pain from an injury, and low back pain. Other kinds of chronic pain include tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and pain affecting specific parts of the body, such as the shoulders, pelvis, and neck. Generalized muscle or nerve pain can also develop into a chronic condition.
Multiple SclerosisMultiple sclerosis is a disease in which your body's immune system destroys the protective sheath (myelin) that covers your nerves. Damage to this sheath causes difficulty/inability for your brain to communicate to your spinal cord and other areas of your body. There is no cure for MS however Physical Therapy may help manage symptoms & slow down the progress of the disease.
UltrasoundPhysical Therapy is a health care profession that involves evaluating/examining, diagnosing, and treating disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The goal of Physical Therapy is to focus on movement in order to restore function, abolish pain, and improve an individual's quality of life. Physical Therapists utilize treatment agents such as therapeutic exercise, mobilization/manipulation of the spine, soft tissue mobilization, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold agents to help achieve these goals.
MRIPlease bring any interpretation reports from your X-Ray or MRI that was read by a Physician. Because X-Rays and MRI's do not reveal everything your Physical Therapist needs to know in order to properly treat you, he or she will focus on taking your medical history, and performing physical tests and measures which identify potential and existing problems.

Hip ReplacementOne of my most memorable patient experiences was a man that wanted to walk his daughter down the aisle at her wedding. This gentleman came to me experiencing paralysis and spasticity symptoms, after having a routine total hip replacement and epidural. He was unable to walk without the assistance of Lofstrand crutches, which require the use of both arms and hands.
