Public Welfare Department

For some reason, it seems to be an inherent thing for most ppl who work for an agency benefiting the "poor" of society, to look down upon them and treat them with a lack of respect. They're silent thought processes seem to be saying, "what are you complaining about! You're getting things for free!" This has been my experience all of my life, no matter what town I have lived in. Since everything I apply for I honestly qualify for, and my only crime is being one of the "financially unfortunate", I can only hope these employees do not find themselves in need of their own services at some point in their lives. Until then, I can only hope that I do not have to visit these offices often. On the flipside, these employees are probably subject to a lot of ungrateful people on a weekly basis; this no doubt helps to mold their unpleasant attitudes. So I will continue to be as kind and respectful to them as I'd like them to be to me, and hope that I can get out of there as soon as possible. Expect this office to be crowded. And it's a good idea to bring something to do, because 9 out of 10 times you're going to have a long wait.

Customer service here is horrible. There are some people very helpful but, a large majority of them act as if they hate you and there jobs. Why be in customer service if you give attitude to the customer, just do us a favor and quit. Also forget about reaching your case worker because they never answer the phones every time I have to go it's the same horrible experience. One stars from me because there are one or two people in the office that care.
