I went to the Carolina Ale House on Glenwood Avenue for the first time ever with my close friends and experienced horrible service from the servers and the management. Not only did I experience terrible service, but my credit card, which I was told was not going to be charged until the tab is closed and the bill is divided. My experience did not take a turn for the worse until after my friend and I agreed to send back some chicken tenders and French fries and some Spinach dip that came us cold. The waitress was not the person to drop off our food, it was another member of the wait staff, who did not stay around long enough to make sure everything was up to par. Our original waitress never came back to check on us after we had received our orders. I had to get my friend to get her attention about 15 minutes after we had been served our food, just to let her know that our food had come out cold. I informed her that it was cold and asked her if we could get our food remade fresh, and she never indicated that is was a issue, as she took up our food, and took them back to the kitchen. About 10 minutes after the fact, the manager aggressively comes up and tells my friends and I that he was going to charge our chicken tender order twice because it was more than half eaten, without ever offering an apology, or even trying to work with us. He further said that he was not making us a fresh spinach dip, but he was going to reheat the same one. He seemed completely annoyed and aggravated and did not handle the situation appropriately. There were only 4 strips on the order and my friends and I were sharing, and he tells us that because 2 were gone, we can't get a refund or get a new order without being charged. All of the other wait staff could not believe that this was how the manager handled the situation and offer to rectify the situation as best, but ended up charging my credit card $42.00 for the entire order. The manager tried to justify this as well, and summoned the security to kick us out.
