They have GREAT sushi.. There entrees are wonderful and there is so much that we always have leftovers. Great atmosphere, especially for the kiddos.

I wrote my first review in 2008, & it's now 2010 and Kimono is still my "happy place" where hubby Dan & I have our celebratory "sushi-saki feasts"! Their sushi has alwas been excellent, and sometime it even hits the sublime- I've had squid there that's almost as velvet-in-your-mouth delectable as what I ate in Japan- and much, much better than 99% of what I was used to eating in NYC! I recommend Kimono Highly! We are SO grateful that this place exists within an hour's drive of us!

I'm the type that is picky about food and where I eat. When my friend brought me there it was a great atmosphere, nice hostess, and chef. The food was excellent and so was the service. Will be going back again with my friends this weekend...yayy so excited

This restaurant was the single worst sushi experience I have ever had in my life. I was traveling through West Virginia on my way home to NC and stopped for dinner.
I ordered the spicy tuna roll, and a house roll. Neither of which were complicated rolls or difficult to make. They tasted awful and the tuna was tough, and greyish in color. When I tried to add some soy sauce to cover the flavor, I realized the soy sauce was spoiled, probably from lack of washing the bottles. It tasted like someone had added iodized salt to the bottles.
The tempura I ordered was even worse, with large hunks of vegetable that weren't even remotely cooked, and when I bit into one the batter was still RAW!!!
I was seriously worried about getting sick when I left, justifiably. I threw up all the way home to NC while driving, and had stomach cramps for three days afterwards.
Not only was the food bad, but the service was inattentive, sloppy, and just plain nasty. I SAW one of the waitresses wipe her nose with her hand. She wasn't my waitress, but I was still nauseated by the thought. After I was done not-eating, (because I couldn't choke down most of my dinner despite the fact I hadn't eaten since 10 AM that morning and it was now 6pm.) it took me nearly twenty minutes to get my check.
When I realized I had food poisoning, I called the restaurant the next day to ask for a refund for my meal only, not the tip. I was assured of a refund by a man on the phone, who took my name, number, address, and the amount. Two weeks later, I hadn't heard from them, so I called the restaurant again. This time, the manager (a very heavily accented asian man), claimed that he had no idea whom I spoke to (and yes, I checked the number in my phone records), and that there would be no refund unless I got a doctor's note confirming I got food poisoning. I asked him how he expected me to get a doctor to agree I had food poisoning without being able to examine me during the time of distress? He reiterated that was company policy. I asked him to send me a copy of this policy in writing, and he refused. I asked to speak to the owner, and he refused again. I spent 15 minutes on the phone long distance to West Virginia trying to get a resolution, and still have not received any, nor do I expect to.
Needless to say, I wouldn't suggest you eat here unless you enjoy throwing up.

Wonderful and unique. Give it a try and break out from the same thing

Very filling, but expensive. Awesome service. You get to watch your food being cooked. Who could want more?
