Art Van Furniture

Spent $1800 on a motorized couch. The electronics were wonky from day 1. Paid for the extended warranty, had 3 visits from technicians over the years. Waited on parts for over 6 months, finally got a temporary fix. Broke again, the service center stopped returning our calls and let the warranty run out. This is the second and last bad experience my family will have with Art Van.

Art Van is the typical sales organization engaging in "bait and switch" and dishonesty by omission techniques in order to sell you warranties that they will do their best to dishonor. When they tell you the "fabric protection" warranty will cover your upholstry if you spill something on it that won't come out - they don't tell you that you must call them within five days of the spill or they won't cover it. Or, possibly if you have multiple colors of spills, they won't cover it because you haven't kept a oonsistant schedule of professional cleanings of your furniture. I bought a dining room table, purchased the Home Care Warranty that I was told would cover the finish for "life" and now that the finish is peeling off over the majority of the surface of the table, they say moisture caused it and there is nothing they will do. This table was used in a nice home, taken care of in a very reasonable mannor, and it looks just terrible now. The seat cushions have stains that won't come out, and they won't honor the warranty with those either. DO'T BUY THEIR WARRANTIES, BETTER YET, BUY YOUR FURNITURE FROM HONEST BUSINESSES......DON'T BUY FROM ART VAN.
