I am originally from Los Angeles, and have been in Pittsburgh for a year and a half. I had been with one hairdresser in Los Angeles for over ten years, and, as much as I love Pittsburgh, my one regret leaving L.A. was leaving my hairdresser. I had been putting off getting a haircut all this time, and my hair was in shambles, the victim of my sad attempts at cutting it myself. The hair gods took pity on me, and I found Salon Vi Vace, and in particular, RACHEL DREZENIAK! She is absolutely fantastic - she listened to what I wanted, explained exactly what she was doing, step by step, and I felt reassured and relaxed during the whole haircut. My hair looks unbelievable - I look five years younger, my hair is shiny and healthy and has the kind of cut you see in magazines. PLUS, she did not elaborately style it, so when I woke up the next morning, it still looked great, and it falls right into place after I showered it at home. I have never had my hair look as good at home as it did leaving the salon. Ever. Words do not do justice to the miracle Rachel performed on my hair - I cannot recommend her highly enough. Thank you, Rachel D., and the whole staff at Salon Vi Vace. You guys ROCK! Kelly Mahan Jaramillo

I have been going to Salon Vivace for a little over 4 years. I live in Forest hills and drive all the way to the North Hills, I love it there. I found the best stylist, Mandy has been putting up with me for all this time and she never lets me down. She is always so patient and willing to work around your schedule and needs. I recommend her to anyone that maybe looking for a new salon. They have also opened a new day spa next door and you won't be dissapointed! When you are done with your pampering you can visit Ross Mark Mall and also Bravo right down the hill!!!

Recently I visited Randal at Salon Vivace in the North Hills based on a recommendation from a friend. What a find! Randal is a very polite and professional stylist. He gave me a haircut I loved, even with putting the pressure on him that he was the third stylist I was trying, because I felt none of the other stylist listened to me. Also, he did an excellent job of making me feel appreciated including sending me a follow-up mailing expressing his pleasure in meeting me. The service is great, but the salon seems a little run down.

I am a former hairdresser. I have longed for nearly 4 years (since I've been out of the business) to find a nice man or woman that would give me a fabulous cut. I think I have been to every salon in Pittsburgh, and have left disappointed every single time. MANDY @ Salon Vivace gave me the best cut that I have ever had. Everything about it was perfect: it was easy to style, edgy, young, hip, timeless, and I could go longer than the 6wks that is recommended b/c of how precisely it was cut. My very thick hair was dried completely and styled, where most places barely dried it at all. They always complained about it's thickness.\r \r The salon itself looked a bit outdated, but all the workers were hip and clearly educated. The only downfall I would say is that the credit card machine cannot be used to add a tip, so make sure that you bring cash for a tip!

I went to Salo Vivace twice now. The atmosphere is great! It is very relaxing and everyone there is very nice and comforting. The only unpleasent experiance I had there was with the girl who once did my manicure. She rushed me out in 10 minutes, made me bleed and didn't even say a word to me the whole time. So, you can see that I really like the place if I'm going back after something like that happened to me!
