If a gentle and compassionate touch is not enough for you, then consider sedation dentistry. I have been doing sedation dentistry for over 15 years with tremendous success. After performing well over 500 cases, I can't recall one single patient who was not satisfied with their sedation dental appointment. At Pittsburgh Dental Spa, I offer several types of sedation. The extremely anxious patient who wants to sleep through their procedure will benefit from I.V. sedation. With I.V. sedation the entire patient's work can be done in one visit. If the patient prefers sedation that is not so deep, then oral sedation will do the trick. The typical oral sedation protocol consists of three pills usually in combination with nitrous oxide sedation.
It is conveniently located right off the Parkway West. The shopping strip called "Robinson Court" has ample parking directly in front of the office

I called on Monday at 9 a.m to request an appointment for a tooth that needed pulled; and I was offered an appointment that SAME DAY at noon. I didn't have transportation so I schedule for that Thursday. ( I knew I needed tooth pulled because I had went to The Dentistry in Greentree that prior Friday and was unhappy with their services and staff.) My sister told me I should go to see Dr. Tim Runco because he was her dentist before she moved and she absolutely loved him. The Pittsburgh Dental Spa is gorgeous. The colors on the walls are very soothing and I'm not mad at the massage dental chairs. It truly is a Dental Spa. I really appreciated the type of X-ray machine they use; no more jamming a square mechanism in your mouth cutting your gums. You bite down on a bit and the machine rotates around your head. No discomfort or pain. Dr. Runco and ALL his staff were Personable, Caring and Very Thorough. I need quite a bit of work done which they will do under IV Sedation and he and his staff made me feel at ease and confident in the work they would be doing on me. I tend not to go to the dentist as often as I should ( hence all the work that I now need) because of my issues with anxiety and fear of pain. I got X-rays and fitted for a partial denture and they made sure the whole process was very comfortable for me. I had to schedule to have the tooth pulled because I am getting it done under IV Sedation along with some other work. I'm actually looking forward to going back to have all the dental work done. How often can you say that about a dentist. They were also less expensive than the other dental office. A big thanks to Dr. Tim Runco and all the staff at The Pittsburgh Dental Spa. I really appreciate the experience you gave me and am looking forward to working with you to bring me back to dental health.

Dr runco is one of the.nicest dentists I've met he is friendly and knowledg I would love for him to be my dentist but it is impossible to get emergency apts or get help from front desk staff. You can't get to dr runco without an apt which req at least 1 month wait.

I just LOVE this office and staff! I'm not a fan of pain (who is?) but not exactly a dental phobic. Dr. Runco and his staff were so caring and gentle. I endured my first root canal with almost no pain or discomfort. I always heard horror stories of the taboo "root canal" but I could not have enjoyed it more. From the heated massage chair, the flavored lip balm, to enjoying some Kelly Ripa and Michael right above me on the ceiling TV...ALL while getting a root canal done! Dr. Runco and his staff treat you like family and friends. They get to know you and make you feel comfortable. The office is absolutely beautiful and the whole atmosphere is charming and welcoming.

Today Debbie did a deep cleaning on my teeth and gums and they look and feel so much better! I also had my impression taken for my partial and I can't wait to see the results! Teresa was very gentle when taking the impression and took the time to make sure the shade of the teeth was exactly what I wanted. After my appointment, I swung by the lip balm bar and got to pick from all of their new flavors and also chatted with the lovely ladies up front. I love the Pittsburgh Dental Spa and will be recommending all of my friends and family!

Dr. Runco and his entire staff are wonderful! You can tell that Dr. Runco is the type of dentist that is dedicated to his practice as well as knowing his patients. He has such a pleasant demeanor and listens to any concerns you may have. I will certainly continue to see him regularly and continue referring friends and family to him! The only issue I have ever had is getting an appointment but it has always worked out.

The staff are top notch!! I'm ashamed to admit but going to the dentist always freaked me out before I started going to Pittsburgh Dental Spa, I had the worst gag reflex and I hated the whole clinical feel of normal dental offices. The staff Pittsburgh Dental Spa put my fears and worries at ease, I genuinely felt that they cared about me and a bonus was the gag free X-rays. My teeth needed some serious help and Dr. Runco and his team were so kind and understanding of my fears and the whole experience and work they did on me was awesome. You don't even feel like you're in a dentist with their funky decor. I stand behind my five star rating - Pittsburgh Dental Spa is WONDERFUL!!

Everyone was so friendly! This is huge because I've been to Dentist offices in the same city when the staff were rude, unhelpful, and didn't have a clue how much I would need to pay or when. The staff at the Pittsburgh Dental Spa were kind and didn't make me feel silly for avoiding the Dentist. They told me exactly how much I would need to pay before I made my appointment to have my cavities filled. I knew exactly what would happen and how much it would all cost me. Plus, I took advantage of their $99 teeth whitening system. Overall, I would recommend this office and Dentist to anyone needing a new Dentist, a new move-in, and/or anyone who is scared of going to the Dentist! They were fabulous!

I have a huge dentist phobia and this office is great from the first time you walk in the door. It's relaxing and the staff has always been smiling and friendly. The dentist is very kind as well and they go over everything very thoroughly. Highly recommend to anyone.
