All Affordable Transmissions & Auto Repair

Had two old cars done at Affordable, since last summer. For serious and expensive repairs, I would not recommend anywhere else. Great work, saved me thousands, and I'm still rolling!

Terrible service. I called to have vehicle picked up and never got a call back even after leaving voice messages. Shouldn't even have one star as a rating!

my car broke down coming back from boston in new york had a shop there tow and check the car and charged me $700 and they said i needed an engine price $4700 so i called affortable transmission to come tow and do the repair and after they checked my car told me it wasn't the engine got it fixed towing from new york to philly and repair total cost $1050 very honest does great work i highly recommend this place .

I had a gift certificate to get my car detailed at affordable detail, contacted all affordable transmissions who stated they took over the detail portion of the business. After some scheduling issues I finally was able to bring my car in on a Monday. Called Monday afternoon to see if it was done and was told it was not started yet and they would need it Tuesday. I said OK but please call me on Tuesday to confirm it will be done. I called around 1:00PM on Tuesday and was told it would be done in an hour. I rec'd a call back 2 hours later stating they would need it for a SECOND day (I reminded them they already had it two days). Again I said fine but it needed to be done by Wednesday and asked for a call to confirm it was done. Of course no call on Wed and no answer when I call. Go to p/u on Wed at 7:00PM and car is still not done. They apologize and ask if I can bring it back next week. I agree and bring it back in the following Wed night, speak to the owner,hand him the keys, and confirm that he will be able to finish the interior, a second coat of wax and the trunk like he promised the following day (Thursday). He says of course and will even pick me up at the train station when I get home from work. I show up on Thursday evening around 7PM to p/u my car that is sitting in the same spot I parked it the night before and the owner is sitting behind a computer and glances at me and does not say a word. Finally he says he forgot to do my car and starts to give me a song a dance about his life story (which he did every time I spoke to him in person). He wants to know if I can bring it back in on Saturday I said **** no and told him to give me the keys (which he could not find b/c they were sitting on his desk in the envelope I had physically handed him the night before) my car mats and move the car that was blocking me in. If this is how they treat customers for a simple detail job I would not trust them with my transmission

After moving from north jersey I had to find a new mechanic.....these are the ones i can call mechanics......they really look out and make sure you understand what is going on.

I had my transmission rebuilt here over a year ago, I intended to write a review at the time but creating a yp.com login was a pain!! So sorry for the delay :-)



When the transmission went on my car I was horrified. I researched the problem and found that it was a very common failure in my make and model, and most owners had to replace the transmission costing between $3000 - $4000. Given I still had over a year worth of payments left, I was NOT willing to accept this financial burden.



I researched reviews, and felt most comfortable with Affordable Transmissions. The only negative reviews seemed written by people I couldn't really relate to (one was whining that the office was dirty... who cares? I wouldn't trust a CLEAN mechanic!!). I was quoted $1700 for a rebuilt transmission. They assured me that a rebuilt transmission would serve as well for my purposes as a brand new, and this was an acceptable risk given the huge savings.



The work was done quickly, and the owner was very generous about being flexible with me in repaying him. I didn't have the money at first, so he ended up having to store my car for three weeks while I got it together. I called him with updates constantly, he seemed to genuinely not mind keeping it for me!



The car has not given me problems since!! I was very concerned that this would be a case of getting a few months out of it before having to replace the transmission altogether, but this wasn't the case. I would recommend anyone to take their car here for a transmission issue!

Attention to All that are intimated by mechanics....I needed my new camaro inspected because I brought it in New Jersey. Not only did these guys inspect the car while I waited, they made me feel very comfortable in a situation I usually feel very intimated. All the guys: John, Todd, Mike, Tink and "Big Daddy" were respectful, informative and friendly. Also, had my car hand washed and waxed by Mike. Great job guys! Thanks for your great service.

I wouldn't trust anyone else with my jeep! My husband thought he was doing me a favor and had one of his friends do work on my 2003 Chevy Trailblazer LT! Worst decision he ever made! Trying to be cheap! I took my truck to Al Affordable let my mechanic (Tinky) work on it and everything worked out for the best! Tinky is the best mechanic ever! I wouldn't trust anyone else with my vehicle! I recommend anyone who has a vehicle to Affordable Transmissions! ASK FOR TINKY!

I was haveing a few problems with my f150 pu truck, transmission, coils, and missfiring plugs. Call John for the first time and explained the problems and right off the bat he knew what was wrong with my truck. i had called a few other places b-4 him and they all said drop it off for an estimate and the deposit will go to the repairs if i had work done and the ball park estimates were high. when i called John gave me an estimate on the phone when i called him. and his prices were in my price range and a lot less than the other other other ones. Well i took my truck in he did the repairs, my truck was done when he said it would be done, except for my dipstick (it had holes in it where the bracket broke it was rusted thru) it was broken b-4 i took it to him. but he replaced it for no charge. Same price he quoted on phone just to do the transmission. Nice of him to do that, he could have charge me but didn't. I would recomende this shop to anyone needing work done, i my self am a retired mechanic and some things i don't want to on the ground at home. he has all of my business and any refferal i can send his way, Affordable, honest, dependable his business is. he has great mechanics that know their stuff GREAT SERVICE!!.

I was in the shop last week getting my car fixed and found the office to be immaculate. The shop employees were very kind to me and accomadating. My car was taken to two previous shops before this one with no help, just a bunch of money thrown into the car and parts I did not need. All Affordable were honest and kind from the start. My car was finally fixed, and at a great price. I have since told all of my friends and family to use this shop. I found not one bit of service to be disappointing. It was fast, honest, and most of all affordable! Thanks to the owner and his team!

I'am a disabled vet while going down to the VA one day I broke Down on RT 95 Lots of Smoke coming Out all over thought my Truck was on FIRE! pulled over took out my I phone went on Yellow Pages and they Recommenened this shop. I called them at there number and asked if they had some sort of road service and he said not usally buthe asked where i was and unknown to me I had broke down right behind his shop and iI swear in laess the 5 minutes he was there and had me towed to his Shop I was Surprized when he told me I only Broke a line going to the Transmission cooler and had me back on the road in record time, I was Very Impressed with his HONESTY ,I think a lot of Shop's would have told me the trans went!! this is a GrEaT Shop there HONEST and I would RECOMMEND them to everyone I know who has Transmission Problems........ P.S. his Prices were GrEaT Too!

unfortunately, not everyone had good experience here...i never saw such a disorganized place. the sitting area to wait was disgusting, be careful bringing kids or wearing good clothes. the bugs flying in the office are just gross. as far as picking up my car, ha! the process was so unprofessional and just chois. they couldnt find my keys, then to get someone to give me a receipt that was a joke. i dont even want to get into how the workers looked floating around there. oh and then BE CAREFUL if you have to bring your kids, a larger man there who just yells profanity and just doesn't care who is around....CUSTOMER BEWARE....THIS "SHOP" IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF MAJOR CHANGES. *A NOTE TO THE SHOP OWNER, OPEN YOUR EYES, GOOD PEOPLE WILL STOP BRINGING THEIR CARS TO YOU IF YOU ALLOW THIS TO CONTINUE, I KNOW I AM ONLY ONE BUT WORD OF MOUTH IS THE BEST ADVERTISEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know nothing about cars, so when i thought my transmission went because my car wouldnt move they had it towed in for me.....expecting this to drain my savings account. Im thrilled to write this review letting others know that they fixed a small problem and didnt just tell me my transmission was bad to collect a high bill. I would refer this shop to everyone i know. signed one extremely happy customer
