Four Star Family Restaurant

This is my new favorite restaurant. No matter if its breakfast, lunch or dinner, it's always excellent!

My boyfriend and I tried this place out for the first time last week and it was delicious. They had great drink and food prices. We sat and ate at the bar and Christine, the bartender, was so nice and attentive. I had the tacos and the shells were made in house and so good. My boyfriend had the French Dip which was also delicious and filling. We will definitely be going back!

It's a decent meal at a decent price. Atmosphere is comfortable. Servers have been good, and my family looks forward to going there. We usually do breakfast and have not been disappointed. Very similar to other Greek style restaurants we've been to. Breakfast all day long if you want it, and pretty flexible is you want something different. Heading there shortly with my elderly father in law. He also likes it which if you know the older crowd, it speaks to the overall treatment as well.

I heard that the soups were all made from scratch, so I decided to eat at the Four Star Family Restaurant on a Friday. That way I could try their clam chowder and see how the fish fry stacks up to some of my favorites. First, I liked how relaxing, clean and bright the bar area was, and I ordered a Pepsi which was served with a perfect amount of ice. Relaxing music in the background and two big TV's showing football and the weather provided distractions. My clam chowder was creamy with not a single lump of thickening. A good cream soup should have generous chunks of meat and veggies, and absolutely no lumps, and Four Star passed this important test. As soon as my soup was finished it was whisked away and in its place appeared a plate with three pieces of cod, a baked potato, a big wedge of lemon, tartar sauce, sour cream, and a plate of butter. Everything tasted fine, and hot foods were hot and cold foods were cold. A generous side dish of cole slaw passed my cole slaw test because it was very flavorful, creamy and slightly sweet. When I asked about the potato pancakes, my server brought me one to taste, and next to the soup, it was the highlight of the meal. Pan fried to a golden brown, with flecks of fresh parsley, I could tell that they were made from scratch and will rival any German restaurant in the area. I could only eat two pieces of the cod and felt that the meal was a very good value. I will return some day for breakfast because the parking lot is always packed in the morning! Then I will try a dinner because they have daily specials which sound interesting to me. For a medium sized restaurant they have a great variety of home cooked foods on the menu, and I believe you can order breakfast any time. The fish fry at Four Star is on par with my two favorites which are the downtown Milwaukee Italian Community Center and the Maxim's in Brookfield which have their own unique twist to the basics which are not greasy and with plenty of substitutions to please different palates.

We were so happy to see Pewaukee had a new restaurant, how short lived that happy thought was. The food was fair. My husband meatloaf was mushy. My Broasted chicken was over cooked and the waitress chose what type of potatoes I should have with my meal because she forgot. Fries are extra with a burger. You get what you pay for a cheap meal. The service was so poor, that it was the first time we did not leave a tip. She forgot parts of our meal and drinks. If you wanted water with your meal, you had better ask for a big glass, because they serve the water in little juice glasses. Good luck on your visit. Once was enough for us.
