Awful

Glasses are cheap. Mine scratched the first day even with coating. Had to wait almost three weeks to have fixed. The transitions don't get dark in the sun. Very disappointed. We will never come back.

My room mate had our first appointment on 10/28/2014. He already had a new prescription so he picked out his frames and ordered his glasses. The frames he chose did not qualify for the 2 for one but with the Groupon he had purchased he got a fair price and was happy with his glasses. Several weeks later he broke the glasses and the lens fell out. Upon returning to the store he was given a duplicate frame, lenses put and he want on his way. Gary is very pleased with his glasses and the service.

I also had a Groupon and needed a new eye exam. I received a very thorough exam and overall a pleasant, reasonably priced service. Upon receiving my glasses I realized that the close vision was a bit blurry but the distant vision was very clear. I have an unusual problem with only 30% vision in my eye and on 11/19 I received a free re-exam, pleasant helpful service and am waiting for my new and improved

glasses.

I called Stanton's 1800 number to make an appointment for my 9 year old son. When I spoke to the woman setting up the appointment, I told her that I was interested in the 2 for 69 special. At no time did she inform me that a) I had to ask for that special or b) that it does not apply to children's glasses. I went in and all of the signage that I saw said buy one get one free. I figured that the 2 for 69 wasn't available at that location. When the eye exam was over we sat down with the sales associate who started crunching numbers and came back with a total of 165. I told him that was twice as much as I had planned on spending and I said is there anyway to bring the price down. At this point he still did not mention the 2 for 69 special. He walked away and came back and knocked 20 dollars off. I told him that I needed to think about it. He said that if i left without buying, the 45 dollars that I paid for the so-called free eye exam would be forfeited. When presented with that scenario, I chose to go ahead and buy the glasses. When I went to pick them up on Thursday August 7, 2014, I entered the parking lot a different way and saw the 2 for 69 sign. I called the number that I had called to make my appointment and asked them what the rules were for the 2 for 69. The woman told me that it was for two pairs of single vision glasses, frames are included. So I went back into the store where I spoke with the gentleman that I dealt with on Tuesday August 5, 2014 at the time of the eye exam and purchase. I asked him why I wasn't offered the 2 for 69 even though I asked about ways to lower my payment. He said that I have to ask for that special specifically to receive it (which I was not told on the phone) and that the frames that I bought didn't qualify and that the upgrades that he told me were "free" would not qualify. He then said, rather nastily, "I gave you a price and you agreed so there's nothing I can do for you". So I called their customer service number again and was connected to their corporate office. I spoke with a customer service agent named Katrina. She told me that the kids glasses did not qualify for the 2 for 69 special because state law says that kids under 17 must have polycarbonate lenses. I have three problems with that statement. First of all, if that's the case and your company knows that is the case, customers should be told that when they call for an appointment, especially when they mention that special. Secondly, it says absolutely nowhere on the website or in the commercials that the special does not apply to children's glasses. Third of all, I searched through the statutes on the state of Florida's website and there is no statute mentioning that children's glasses must come with polycarbonate lenses. I knew that this was a lie because when my child went to get glasses a year ago they gave him plastic lenses. I am thoroughly disgusted with this company and I really would like my money back. They can have their glasses, their lenses, their frames, their prescription, everything back, I just want my money back, which of course they refuse. On top of everything else, the glasses make my son's vision blurry.

If i could give zero stars I absolutely would. Actually, I'll award the one star to Kathryn Larkin, OD - who was knowledgeable and a true pleasure to deal with. Do not waste your time, sanity, money on this rip-off. Pay a little more and go somewhere where they will make it easy for you and GET IT RIGHT.

The worst optical store I have ever done business with! Ordered my glasses on 4/12. Stanton stated that I should have them by 4/22. I went to the store on 4/25 only to be told that corporate had broken them and it would be at least another week. I then had to pick out a different frame because they were out of my first fram choice. I received in writing on my receipt that my glasses would be ready on 5/8 after 1:00pm and the technician signed it. I called this afternoon 5/8 at 2:30 to see if they were ready. After being on hold for at least 5 minutes I was told they would be ready at 6:00pm. Called the store manager at 5:00pm to check if they would be ready and was told they were not there, but would be ready tomorrow. I hopped in my car went to the store and requested my credit for the charge for the glasses. They lied, were incompetent and extremely disorganized. The worst eyeglass purchase experience I have ever had. Go to Center for Sight (which my friends suggested).
