The Lake County Building Department, under the authority of the board of commissioners, is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the applicable local and state of Ohio building codes for residential, commercial and industrial construction in its jurisdiction. The building codes provide the department's inspectors with guidelines to help ensure the health and welfare of the public. The building department is certified by the state of Ohio and provides building plan reviews, inspection services, structural building and electrical code information, and heating and air conditioning code information. In addition, it provides various acceptance test certificates for fuel piping installations. The Lake County Building Department is located in Painesville Ohio.
