Will not be going back!!!!!! Miss the old gladstones: I heard that it had changed owner that day. I have been going to Gladstones for years, Had made reservation for this day. Miss the old gladstones: I heard that it had changed owner that day. I have been going to Gladstones for years, went this day for Sunday Easter Brunch and it was a bad, bad, bad, experience. Was sat down at our table and began to give us the specials of the day, so we order the brunch. She told us I'll be back with your plates, waited for them and keep seeing her go by and no plates. Had to ask her for our plate again and again no plates, so I asks another waiter for some plates and he finally give us our plates. She later came back to the table and said sorry, and said that they have extended the hours for the brunch so no need to worry that we had lots of time. I had asked for water and juice to go with our food, again, keep seeing her go by and no drinks. Went and got some food in the rain, they had a giant umbrella but the food was in the rain. Didn't understand that! Get back to my table and no drinks, again seeing her go by and every time asking for my drinks did this four to five times and then asks another waiter. Finally got my drink and then she tells me that they had closes down the brunch I look at her and said that I was still hungry can I have something else, she tells me I would have to order from the menu and paid again for that. You can image the angry, I said no. Left hungry. It's not the same any more, don't think I will be going back. Everything is OVERPRICE, menu has changed, DID NOT LIKE the matrons in the bathroom, VERY, VERY, VERY BAD SERVICE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE experience. Will not be going back to Gladstones!!!!!! Great views, excellent food. Went there for an office party. Great location, right on the ocean, inside and protected outside seating. Had great vegan and vegetarian food, including a killer flatbread. The omnivores raved about the beef.

Great clam chowder, great location. All the classics you would want from a good seafood place: sourdough bread, fresh sea food, good service. The interior decor could use a punch up, but the location on the beach is unbeatable.

  • Gladstones is my favorite seaf...

Gladstones is my favorite seafood and beach bar/restaurant. I always go here on weekends for lunch with my little girl. The view is spectacular on any day. We get a window table inside if the weather is cold. On sunny days an umbrella table on the patio is a must. When it comes to food, it's amazing... we love, love their Clam chowder (it's simply the best in town), Fish and chips and Macadamia rock shrimp We enjoy the food, the view and foil wrapped leftovers. Last Saturday it was a foil wheal we took home with us. Here are the reasons why we keep going to this place: good for groups, great for brunch, great for outdoor dining, kid-friendly, romantic, special occasion, scenic view.

  • LOVED it with Old owner..HATE it now
    Updated: a month agoPosted: 10/12/2011

Went with a party of nine not knowing the ownership changed hands. Had a gift card for $400..plenty for non-drinkers, right? The Tempura Coconut Shrimp was what we came for but now was off the menu entirely. The waiter spilled the ice water tray on my handicapped aunt and cousin. Ended up ordering grissly $38 buck a pop...TERRIBLE. Bill came to $370 with a ""suggested"" gratuity of $73. They wouldn't let us put the balance of $30 toward the gratuity. The wait staff were attentive but the food was absolutely inedible. The views were nice and we enjoyed it regardless because we were with family. Don't bother!\r

  • Used to be a must.... not so anymore!
    Updated: a month agoPosted: 8/6/2011

Well over the years, this has always been a must event for my family. NOT anymore... The favorite menu items are all gone, the place seems more ""worn"" than it used to, and top it off, the prices are way beyond the food quality. Don't get me wrong the food isn't that bad but it IS over-priced. $26 for 3 pieces of fish and some soggy fries??? Service has dropped as well. From the moment we walked in the whole family felt pressured to get done and leave. Slow bread delivery, asking to take my dish while I still had my fork in my hand and food in my mouth and handing me the check BEFORE I was even asked if we wanted dessert. Force to valet park and now, in an attempt to ""upscale the place, matrons in the bathroom, looking for tips... what, I can't get my own paper towel without being pimped for a tip?? $190 for two adults and two teenagers... Could have had a better dinner, and cheaper, at just about any chain restaurant.
