Animal Hospital of Ovilla

We've used this vet clinic several times. The first time, we brought in our bearded dragon because this was the only place that sees exotic animals anywhere near us. We had excellent service. They explained everything they were doing, and educated my son on how to properly take care of his pet. We've also taken our cat here when he got a UTI. Again, they were very professional. The didn't do anything at all without informing us and getting permission beforehand. We were informed of all treatment options and costs before any treatment or tests were done. Not only that, we were asked if we wanted to be taken back and observe when certain treatments were done to our pets. The even trimmed the dragon's nails (showing us how to do it ourselves) and didn't charge us. They're also more affordable than many of the local vet clinics around. I'm really surprised to read less than stellar reviews about this clinic.

I had to apply for a care credit and was thankfully approved and they went to town on that like it was free money when in fact it is not we have to pay every cent back and when i talked to them about it they said well they were trying to get me over $200 for no interest for 6 months whether there is interest or not we again still have to pay every cent back so they openly said they were trying to rack it up without informing me of any of it i am very dissatisfied and will not be going back and if you are wise you will seek a different vet for your babies too they made it clear they just care about money and that's it

They don't tell you what they are going to do to your animal then charge you for everything that you weren't aware of until it's all been done and you're standing at the register like wait what am i being charged for and it's been done so there isn't anything you can do but pay. They opened a can of food to see if my dog would eat didn't ask just brought it in then charged me for the can on top of everything else i wasn't informed of and sent me home with the opened can but never told me i found out days later once it was bad very upsetting. After they got my money the initial visit they have been cold and that perky demeanor completely went away.

They make it so hard to get a prescription for a pet pharmacy outside of them. It takes over a week for them to get it right. The pet pharmacy complains about them to and that they give patients a hard time because they want you to buy their products. They write the prescription finally, but never update their system so you get notes in the mail telling you that they are concerned for your pets welfare. There is one lady doctor there that is a sweetheart and always remembers my dogs. The rest of the staff depending on what day it is are miserable. One lady only likes cats so she ignored my dogs when we came in and told me to control them so she could hold someones cat. Three stars just for the Doctor.
