I must admit that I'm absolutely paranoid about quality eye care, especially since my mom lost her sight. Fortunately, I was introduced to Dr. Carl Gaterbaum by my brother after moving here seven years ago. My every concern has been addressed in detail, and I have total confidence that my eyes are being well cared for.

Dr. Gaterbaum is the epitome of professionalism.

He is extremely knowledgeable about anything relating to your eyes. A warm and sensitive man, he is kind, caring, an attentive listener, And he has invested in the most sophisticated eye care technology to scrutinize every nuance of your eyesight. You'll quickly discover that he truly cares about you!

For my eyes, he discovered a number of issues over these seven years, all now being treated and consistently monitored. For example, he caught the onset of glaucoma, detected a rise in my eye pressure, found that the canals above my eyes were narrowing; he has referred me to a carefully chosen specialist for evaluation of those canals, as well as the possible removal of cataracts, which should help my sight immensely.

The office staff is also wonderful, thorough in every way; nothing slips through the cracks. It is led by Shelley, with a wealth of experience and a crackerjack in all matters concerning your well-being as it relates to the front office. Nothing is a problem for Shelley; you'll be in good hands.

To be perfectly candid, I love this team, particularly its sensitivity and obvious concern for all of us. I owe my brother a huge debt of gratitude because, without his referral, my eyes might well be in dire straits.

Very professional environment and great doctors! I came in for an eye exam and to browse their sunglasses and I really liked that they carry a ton of brands. really impressed!

What a HORRIBLE business this is. The doctor is amazing, however, the staff is some of the RUDEST, NASTIEST women that I have ever come across. I've left this review in multiple places so you avoid them at all cost. There's such better practices in Dr Phillips than this one. I was in the hospital for an eye injury and I came back to this dr after a few years for follow ups. I came back for 3 follow ups with in a few days and I got charged every single time. They claimed since I was too old of a patient, I got charged as a new patient?? Is that real? They never even told me they were charging me for each visit and invited me back in like it was just a follow up. Then when it came to my eye appointment they tried to Bill me all at once with a too bad so sad mentality. They claimed they "have to collect" once they bill insurance. YEAH RIGHT, my family has doctors in it and it's all by practice. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Florida eye clinic

I hardly ever write reviews but I thought the service was atrocious. I can't stress enough how important office staff is to a Doctor's office. Dr. Guzak was great. He was very professional and thorough with my daughter's exam. One of the ladies at the front desk was very rude. I don't know if she has a bias towards people who don't look like her or if she was having multiple bad days but the 3 times I saw her in the office, she didn't smile and was very abrupt. My daughter ended up getting very expensive eyeglasses and contacts. When we came in to pick up the eyeglasses, this particular staff member looked put off and said the contacts were not in. We stopped in a few weeks later and again this staff member said the contacts were not in. I soon forgot about them until my daughter reminded me about them a few days ago. Now, 4 months later, I stopped by the office and finally picked them up. The rude woman was not working this particular day. The office person had to rifle through cabinets to look for them. They never once called me to let me know the contacts had arrived.
