She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the State University of New York in Syracuse. Dr. Stanowicz is board certified in Internal Medicine, however her medical interests lie solely in Dermatology specializing in diseases of the skin, hair and nails. She is a clinical associate on staff at St. Joseph Medical Hospital. Dr. Sarah Stanowicz is the youngest of Dr. Steven Stanowicz’s children.

Reconstructive Surgery
Recovery time depends on the size of the skin cancer. While some wounds can heal by themselves, others may require sutures, a small skin graft or in some cases, reconstructive surgery. If any discomfort should occur following this treatment, it is usually very mild and can be treated with Tylenol. While minimal bleeding is common, you should seek immediate medical attention if you experience persistent, excessive bleeding.

Psoriasis
We are one of the few medical offices in the area to have a state of the art narrowband ultraviolet B (UVB) light box on site. This can treat many ailments but is mostly used for the treatment of psoriasis. The ultraviolet light helps calm psoriatic symptoms by slowing down the life cycle of the skin cells.
