General Info
Our professional staff has years of experience caring for families from all walks of life. We are leaders in our profession, with dedication to service and professional integrity. Resthaven was established in 1947 by the Kenneth R. White family. Over the years many services have been added to Resthaven. In the late 1950s Resthaven built the first family mausoleum and columbarium. In the 60s Resthaven built the first crematory in the Oklahoma City area. The Little Chapel of the Roses was also constructed in 1960 which has been the home of funerals, several start up churches, and weddings. In 1970 the first lawn crypts in south Oklahoma City were built. With the 80s came expansion; an additional 113 acres, only 68 of which has been developed. Additional mausoleum buildings, the garden of the Holy Family, the Garden of the Prophets, the Garden of Hope, the new Veterans Garden and the Garden of Valor were then introduced. In 1986 the elegant Resthaven Funeral Home was built on the north east corner of the cemetery. The 20,000 square foot facility is home to Oklahoma City's most beautiful and peaceful chapel, equipped with a modern state-of-the-art audio and video projection system. The cemetery and prearrangement offices as well as the administration and general offices for Resthaven are also conveniently located in this beautiful facility. In the 1990s the Garden of Serenity was developed. Beautiful granite constructed niche columbaria were also added in the Garden of Serenity for families that desire to properly and respectfully entomb cremated remains. Resthaven has twice been chosen to host the venue for the touring display of the Vietnam Wall Memorial. After the Murrah Building bombing in Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995, eleven of those that perished in the attack were buried in Resthaven Memory Gardens. These eleven victims are respectfully honored with a Resthaven Memorial Bench that includes their name and picture. Later in 1995, Resthaven developed the Garden of Remembrance, specifically designed to accommodate beautiful upright granite memorials. The University of Oklahoma Health Science Center inters individuals who have donated themselves for medical research at Resthaven. Resthaven has been nationally recognized by the National Funeral Directors Association with the prestigious 'Pursuit of Excellence' award, attained by offering unique programming, outstanding accomplishment in funeral service and innovative achievement in the fields of professional, educational and community service. Resthaven is the only funeral home in Oklahoma City to hold this honor. Caring for our community is a responsibility we take very seriously. We pay close attention to detail and strive very hard to listen to your family's needs and tailor the funeral and cemetery service specifically around a life lived. No other funeral home or cemetery has the ability to customize services and merchandise like Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens.

The think that annoys me is that even though you buy a permanent vase they throw away your flowers two or three times a year even if the flowers look good. The other issue is that many of the graves markers are sunken down and under water during rainy seasons. It seems to me that they should raise these graves so that they are above the water.

Be careful. The funeral home selling caskets for $4650 when you can buy the same casket online for $1095. The funeral home tried their hardest to discourage us but we bought online anyway. The online store had 350 models to pick from and the funeral home had 8 models. Can you imagine the funeral home was 4x more expensive. The funeral home explained it away by saying their overhead was a lot higher. The online casket was beautiful.

They made my family feel completely comfortable. We had plenty of questions and they took the time to answer all of them.

Worst place ever. I have never...

Worst place ever. I have never seen so many disrespectful people in one place in my entire life! When my uncle passed away we were told we would get a military plaque for his grave at no charge to us. I had to go in there several times and finally a YEAR later had to threaten them to get it done. They then tried to charge me and once they figured out I was playing around and was serious about bringing the news out and showing people what kind of place it really was they put the plaque down. Don't go here if you have a choice, they will drain you financally and mentally and laugh about it.

Service above and beyond

The facilities , grounds, staff and service are more then just a cut above!

I recommend Resthaven not just for service when someone has passed away, but also to make arrangements far in advance with payments to fit any budget. We did after our mom passed away, she had everything pre-planned and it made everything so much easier!!! So we decided to do the responsible thing, made pre-arrangements and protected our family from further infaltion of cemetery and funeral costs; all anyone will have to do at the time we pass, is pay the minister, certified copies of death certificates, burial permit and obituary notice for the paper. Highly recommend this company, their ecthics and integrity are of extreme high standards.
