        Marion County Jail provides the detention of persons as required by law. The jail includes persons who are convicted for crime, as well as those who are awaiting trial and transfer to other county and municipal facilities. Marion County Jail protects and maintains the peace and security of the community. The jail is operated by the Corrections Bureau, which is a part of Marion County Sheriff's Office, which also operates community policing, corrections, court services and detective bureaus.
