Lab and X-Rays
Laboratory ServicesWe offer three levels of in-house blood testing before surgery, which we will go over with you when you bring your pet in. Our doctors prefer the more comprehensive screen, because it gives them the most information to ensure the safety of your pet. For geriatric or ill pets, additional blood tests, electrocardiograms, or x-rays may be required before surgery as well.
Dental RadiologyDentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.
MicrochippingPermanent identification: We offer HomAgain microchip placement and identification. Microchips are an excellent, permanent traceable identification system. Stop by our office for information and to increase the chance of recovering your pet if they run away from home.

Heart Disease Treatment
Wound and Fracture CareSurgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures such as dog spays, cat spays, dog neuters, cat neuters and cat declaws. We utilize sterile, aseptic technique for all surgeries. This means we use separate sterile surgical instruments, drapes, suture and materials for each procedure. Our surgeon wears a cap, mask, sterile gown and gloves for every surgery to prevent infection or complications. We are equipped to perform spays, neuters, cat declaws, dental extractions and growth removals. Additionally, Dr. Carr is able to perform many bone surgeries, exploratory surgery, intestinal foreign body removals, surgical biopsies, and other more extensive soft tissue surgery. Dr. Carr has performed many knee surgeries including repair of torn anterior cruciate ligaments ("football knee"), dislocating knee caps (luxated patella) and fracture repair (broken bones). We are able to perform surgical biopsies of growths and internal organs like the liver. For your convenience, most surgeries are closed with absorbable suture buried beneath the skin so a follow-up appointment for suture removal is unnecessary. This saves you making an extra trip to our office and prevents the patient from pulling the stitches out before healing is complete.
Parasites Treatment and ControlPharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals including Simplicef, Previcox, Chondroflex 2, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products such as Nexgard oral chews, Frontline TriTak and Preventic collars; and heartworm preventatives Trifexis, Revolution, and Proheart-6 month injectable to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of Hill's Prescription diets and Healthy Advantage well pet diets for all life stages.
Pain ManagementAnesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures. We utilize recirculating warm-water blankets for anesthetized patient to prevent loss of body heat. We implement multimodal pain control to keep your pet comfortable during and after surgery. We stay current on all the innovations in anesthesia and pain control to provide the best surgical experience for your pet.
Skin Condition and Allergy Treatment
Dental SurgeryDental procedures for dogs and cats are more akin to oral surgery since they often have advanced dental disease at the time of presentation. Because of this, they require general anesthesia to perform a complete cleaning and examination of the teeth and gums. We include intravenous fluids (IV) and pain control with our dental procedures for patient safety and comfort.
Spaying and NeuteringSpaying or neutering can be done at approximately 5-6 months of age. Your pet is given an exam prior to surgery to help determine whether your pet is healthy enough to undergo the surgical procedure. Current vaccinations are required at the time of surgery. All preventative health needs should be addressed prior to your pet's surgery so that they come in at "peak health". Also a pre-anesthetic blood screen is recommended prior to undergoing anesthesia and surgery.
