Valmont Academy was founded back in September of 1978 as Valley Montessori School. Valley Montessori School was started after a number of years of research, debates, discussions, and even a few arguments about the few successes and the many failures of the public school system. A system that consistently allowed children to pass through the grades without learning how to read, write, or to do simple math. Paul and Kathy decided that they could do something about it, on a small scale, by opening a school that would provide its students with a foundation that would carry them through life. It took over three years to raise the necessary money, locate a facility that would satisfy the many state and local codes, and to pass all of the licensing requirements, but on July 4, 1978, Valley Montessori School opened its doors with twelve students.The school grew to a student body of eighty-five students. The larger number of students gave the school a larger cash flow, that in turn allowed for improved physical conditions, but it caused a loss in academic success. As such, it was decided to make a gradual decrease in the number of students enrolled. In 2010 we decided to change our name from Valley Montessorri School to Valmont Academy. Although the name has changed the quality is still the same which is why Valmont Academy is in its 34th successful year. It is our belief that Education includes three basic components: the development of the child's self-esteem, his or her ability to see himself or herself as a capable and independent human being, academic excellence caring environment. Capable and Independent - Success in school is directly related to the degree to which children believe that they are capable. It is critical that we develop within each child , a sense of responsibility, independence, and most importantly, self-esteem. Academic Excellence - Academic Excellence should be anchored on the essential skills needed for lifelong learning. Not only the fundamental skill of reading, writing, arithmetic, but also on the developing strong work habits and strong study habits. To straighten and propel these skills it is extremely important to develop a dynamic sense of love and curiosity towards learning. Caring Environment - A caring environment enhances the students ability to pursue academic excellence. It is our intent to provide an environment that is safe, wholesome, warm, and caring. An environment that radiates the positive feelings of home. We admit students of any race, color, nationality, or ethnicity to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at this school. FDBA Valley Montessori, our educational method is individualized to allow each child to progress at their own pace with a balance of academics and fine arts. We offer modified Montessori education for Preschool ages 2.5 - 5 years old and Elementary kindergarten - 5th Grade. I love this school to pieces. Out of the 9 schools I checked out this was the ONLY one that made me feel and know my son will be okay.. The director Miss. Kathy is great and really lets me know that my son and all the other kids mean the world to her. My son did not say much when he first started. Now knows his colors shouts bye and gives hugs. It is great. She truly cares for my son. I plan on keeping him here as long as I could. I recommend this school for any toddler. I love it.

I love this school. Our son has been attending for 3 years and has learned so much. They have built a solid foundation for him and I am thrilled. He's 6 now and I'm so proud of how well he reads. I now have my second child attending and he's already adapted so well. I'm extremely satisfied and would highly recommend it.
