Naked Lunch is the kind of spot you are looking for when you go out -- the vibe and staff are unpretentious, the music is on point, and the drinks are priced right. It's the perfect place to unwind with your peeps and get lost in the DJ's mixes.\r \r Located in SoHo on Thompson and Grand, head over after dining out to work off your meal. (Don't be fooled by the name -- the only lunch this place serves is liquid, baby!)\r \r For the budget-conscious lounge lizard, the cocktail prices are a welcome surprise in comparison to the obscenely priced ones at the local luxury hotels, and pack an effective kick to truly get the party started!\r \r
This was a high energy bar and I didn't expect that the first time I went there. The music was great! Me and my friends didn't stop dancing. I highly recommend it. The drinks are fairly priced and cheaper than a lot of other places we have been to and I think that was how two of my friends got hammered. So warning...high energy place, music and inexpensive drinks may get you hammered!
this place used to be pretty good. i would not longer go there. the drinks, the people, the scene....really went downhill. i have not been there in about a year or two, but went there three times over the past few weeks for various reasons. left a bad taste in my mouth. seriously, i would avoid it. go to the east village. drinks are too expensive and the owners/bouncers are too full of themselves.
The music is always a great mix of 80's, Classics, Top 40, & Rock. The staff is friendly, unlike most bars in Manhattan & the drinks are great. Most places come and go, but this place is still rocking!!!
This is the ultimate choice for someone that wants to experience the down-town night life of Manhattan in a fun and safe environment. You cannot go wrong here as you will always be treated well and surrounded by all types of people - from the neighborhood types to the pretty and often famous as well. \r \r It can get better, if you arrange your own private party,as the spot is flexible and the NL Team does their best to ensure a special and memorable event.\r \r It is incredible that this establishment has maintained both quality and longevity in this changing club world. I prefer it during the week when you can get a good seat at the bar.....\r \r
I went there on Saturday October 10th, 2009 and had a great time! The music was great with an eclectic mix of different genres that seemed to accomodate most. patrons. For a Manhattan lounge this place was great for there was no attitude and people were down to earth just enjoying themselves. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who is planning on having a party or just going there unannounced for the night. Even though its located in SoHo the prices were quite reasonable.
What can I say it's always good times. I have been frequenting this bar very a long time and I'm never ever disappointed. The music is always good as well as the service. You can always catch a cab right on the corner. After your fun night of cocktails and dancing!!!!!!!
This bar has been a classic staple to my regimen of going out in NYC. It's spacious enough to get lost and dance away the night to 80's music and intimate enough to run into your friends who make it there to meet you. From time to time there is a line but there is no typical red rope BS that you'd see at club row. The bartenders are fast and there is never a long wait for a drink. They are a mainstay to in my nightlife of 13 years! I will never grow tired of the tireless energy that is pumping through the bar! \r \r Just recently I remember going there a saturday night and catching something I'd never seen before. Two guys pretending they were double dutch jump roping (without a jump rope) and other on lookers queing up in line to get a chance to dance/jump through the pretend ropes. You never know what to expect in a fun place like N Lunch!
Went here last Saturday night for a friends b-day party. The place had a great atmosphere (good beats), cool people (very limited B&T) , and was pretty packed. HOWEVER what made this place very average was that it took forever to get a drink b/c they only had three bartenders working on a Saturday night (two at the main front bar and one at the small back bar). When you finally got the attention of one of the bartenders the service was pretty good, they just need to add a couple bartenders so it doesn't take forever to get a drink.\r \r Overall I recommend the bar though as we all had a pretty fun time ... albeit very sobering one.
I've been coming here for years! It is by far the best bar or lounge in the city. I like the owner who i have seen from time to time, but most importantly every time im here i have a blast. i had a few friends in town last week and they told me to meet them here, and i asked how did you know about n lunch? its one of my fave spots and they replied, ""citysearch"". so i posted a review here for my fave lounge and nar in nyc. n lunch rules!
