What started out in 1957 as a small local photo shop has grown into one of the oldest & most knowledgeable Photo Specialty & Sports Optics stores in New York City? Ed Paymer was the original driving force at Camera Land. Ed's famous line from virtually every store meeting is "The difference between them and us is us." With that as our Mantra, everyone at Camera Land is there to help fill the customer's wants and needs with the right product while educating the customer and not just handing a box over the counter, the way most of our competitors do. In the Eighties when Joel and Doug Paymer joined Camera Land the expansion continued. Camera Land is now one of the largest Sports Optics dealers in the country under Doug's leadership, carrying Binoculars, Spotting Scopes and Rifle Scopes. Our digital camera and accessory departments have expanded in leaps and bounds under Joel's supervision, as have our acclaimed Frame and Album departments.

        This place is full of liars, rude & ignorant people. I bought a rifle scope from them they said they had, they didn't have. They told me it was going to ship on Monday and it still hasn't shipped and they have not contacted me. I called e-bay and informed them what they are like and I'm contacting Vortex Customer Service. I have demanded a cancellation of the order and a refund top pay Pal. Matthew is the armpit not to deal with if your stupid enough to go to them.

        Special for the service department! I have my photography equipment repair in this store. They've said it'll take approximately two weeks to get this done, I waited for 3 weeks but they've never call me or send me email. So I called them, and they said it hasn't done yet. The fourth week with the same answer! "It hasn't done yet" The fifth week also the same answer! "It hasn't done yet, the part is under the shipment, need more time to fix this"! Next week is the sixth week, I dont know what's the answer! But probably the same.. I don't know what to do now !! If you want to repair your camera gears, this place is not the right one! Don't waste your time like I did !!
