Fillings
The cost is moderate and depends on the size of the filling and the technique used by the dentist to place it in the prepared tooth. It generally takes longer to place a composite filling than what is required for an amalgam filling. Core Build Ups – The primary purpose of a core build- up is to replace enough missing tooth structure to permit the creation of ideal retention and resistance form in the crown preparation.
Bridges
Bridges – Dental bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is made up of two crowns one on each tooth on either side of the gap. These two anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth, and a false tooth/teeth are placed in between.

Dr. Alexis Richmond is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She is a graduate of Mount Carmel Academy and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences through the Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She then attended LSU’s School of Dentistry in New Orleans, where she obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery and upon graduation received the American Equilibration Society’s Outstanding Senior Award in Occlusion, Temporomandibular Joint Disorders and Comprehensive Care.

Root Canal – Root canal therapy is performed in order to save a tooth that is badly decayed or infected. This occurs when the dental pulp where the nerves and the blood vessels of the teeth are located are infected or damaged by decay or trauma.

Gingivectomy – Is the excision of the gingiva. By removing the pocket wall, gingivectomy provides visibility and accessibility for complete calculus removal and thorough smoothing of the roots, creating a favorable environment for gingival healing and restoration of a physiologic gingival contour.
Deep Cleaning
Deep cleaning is a procedure that is meant to clean the areas of the teeth at or below the gum line where there is plaque and tartar buildup. This build up contributes to the separation of the gum tissue from the roots of the teeth and causes “pocketing.” This is what is commonly called, gum disease. Root planing [deep cleaning] is done while the patient is numb and smooths the roots of the teeth to allow for healing and the reattachment of the gums to the roots of the teeth.

Bone Grafting
He graduated from McNeese State University and moved to the New Orleans area for dental school at LSU, where he served as Vice President and President of his class. Dr. Hammack has completed an extensive amount of education in dental implants, bone grafting, and IV sedation. He is able to provide both IV and oral conscious sedation for patients who are fearful of coming to the dentist. He is very gentle and takes his time, especially with patients who have dental anxiety.

Invisalign Orthodontics
Intraoral Cameras – Allows us to show patients the smallest details of their mouths and teeth. The iTero Intraoral Scanner allows us to take a 3D digital scan of patients teeth and bite. Eliminates the need for messy impressions for Invisalign and other services and are also extremely accurate!

Invisalign – Invisalign is a set of custom made, clear, plastic trays that are placed in the mouth to help move teeth. It is like having braces that you can take off to eat, brush, and floss.

Originally from the Philadelphia suburbs, Dr. Rhodes has enjoyed the vibrant culture and beautiful sites of New Orleans since she moved south to attend Tulane University ten years ago. While earning her Bachelors in Science in Psychology and Masters in Science in Neuroscience Dr. Rhodes also enjoyed performing in the Newcomb Dance Company and taking ballet and modern dance classes. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from LSU and continues to support dance and the classical arts in New Orleans.
General Dentistry
Dr. Rhodes enjoys meeting new patients and helping them achieve a more healthy and confident smile. She takes special interest in cosmetic dentistry, TMJ issues, and how oral health affects the whole body. Dr. Rhodes is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. In her spare time Dr. Rhodes enjoys connecting with nature, gardening, travel, fitness, and spending time with loved ones. When she’s not in the office, Dr. Rhodes enjoys walking her sweet golden retriever, practicing yoga and trying new restaurants throughout New Orleans and southern Louisiana. Dr. Rhodes is passionate about health and wellness and excited to help her patients establish and achieve their oral health and whole body health goals.
