Rite Aid

Can somebody please explain why I need everybody within my party/group ID's in order to purchase a pack of cigarettes and TheraFlu. Okay, fine, even if I don't buy the cigarettes, why would everybody that comes into the store with me need their ID for ME (Me as in the person with the valid ID that will clearly state I'm old enough to buy tobacco AND alcohol products) to buy the Theraflu? There were four of us present and only ONE of us did not have an ID (He had forgotten it at home, and figuring he wouldn't be purchasing anything and we would be just going to the store so I could buy cigarettes and TheraFlu) and was given the most rude customer service. While I didn't get her name, the woman behind the counter with the intent to get her message across as if I was the most ignorant person in the world, rudely told me it was "law" that everybody had to have an ID for the purchase. Even if it was I who was paying for it?



This isn't the first time this Rite Aid has given me rude customer service and turned me away for some strange policy/law they come up with. The prices are fair here, but the cashiers are just outright rude. No apologies, no "Sorry for the inconvience.", Just "No." (I have had no problems with the other workers, just the cashiers. The workers on the floor are very polite and greeted me with smiles.)



If somebody can enlighten me on these so called policies/laws please, do explain, until then, I've had plenty of difficult experiences in here, I'll take my business and dollars elsewhere.
