Provided by SuperpagesNearly 4 years later, Johnny's Poboys consistently satisfies locals and visitors in this tiny corner of the French Quarter. The day we visited, my dining partner saw two folks from the Saints and I swear I saw a tv actor from a popular crime show (but can't confirm!) The muffalettas are "Muffa-LOTTA" fillings and flavors, reasonably priced and the best in the Quarter. Their poboys are fresh made, crispy bread, tasty. Hard working employees keep the food coming and the customers served.

I am from New Orleans and love po-boys. This restaurant has the best po-boys in the city with a typical New Orleans casual laid back atmosphere. Sometimes the line seems long but it moves very fast. My favorite is the Roast Beef, however, I really love their muffalettas. The salads are fresh and plentiful. The employees are friendly, fun and courteous. I highly recommend Johnny's. I am planning on trying their breakfast as I hear that it is terrific as well.

Provided by SuperpagesA favorites with locals and visitors, this one has never failed ot satisfy. Breakfast, poboys with a wide range of ingredients (about 45 poboys!) , and large muffalettas with classic ingredients or crispy, tasty fried seafood. Busy with fast-paced but friendly staff. Simple atmosphere offers a cozy feel; something reassuring about a place that's been around for a long successful time.I tried something new this visit, Johnny's special of the day: 1/2 softshell crab poboy with seafood gumbo. The bread the nice combination of chewy and soft local baguette, the soft shell crab very tasty with a crisp finish. The seafood gumbo was a comforting thick consistency, nice and spicy but not too hot. A stir or two revealed identifiable seafood morsels. A very satisfying and affordable meal. Whether you eat in or take out for a picnic by the river, this is worth a visit for a nice and very casual meal. They close in the afternoon, so take out for later if you want to eat for dinner.
