We loved the food, the drinks, the service was excellent and the portions were perfect for the money!

  • No Way!

We went for a group Christmas dinner and the service was bad - messed up the orders with no apology, no refills on drinks unless you asked twice, food horrible - fish was soaked in oil, and the only side was carrots to share! Not worth even trying it - enough other good New Orleans places to eat.

  • THE ABSOLUTE WORST
    by  on 01/01/2011

Went to Antoines with a group of friends and received the worst service of all time. The waiter spilled drinks and food ON US!!! He also forgot to bring out drinks and sides and was a sweaty mess of a man. In addition to the awful service the food was disgusting. Crab was way over cooked and cold. The potato soueflee was a very expensive french fry and every meat and fish entree we ordered was dry and gross. Do yourself a favor and skip this restaurant on your visit to New Orleans!!!!!! Disgusting, gross pig food!!!!

  • Very Bad
    by  on 03/21/2010

There is really no excuse for how bad this place is. I'm a local from New Orleans and can honestly say that the only people who spend their money at Antoines are old school blue bloods who have completely lost their sense of taste and green tourists who fall prey to the over-advertising Antoines pays for

  • They lost the touch

I had many wonderful meals at Antoines over the years. I do believe although it is only a shawdow of what it once was. The people who own and run the restaurant now are sending it into the ground. In stead of staying by the things that have made Antoines the famous restaurant that it was. They have become nothing but an over priced Denny's. When I was in last a fellow by the name of Raymond was our waiter. He was a joke! He was rude crude and the worst waiter I have ever had. A manager by the name of Rick Blounnt came to the table and after he left i relized why the place runs as bad as it does. I wish my former favorite restaurant could make a come back but I'm sure those days are gone.

  • Elegant dinning, excellent food
    by  on 02/16/2009

Wonderful Valentine dinner !!! The ambience, the service, the food, the history...all perfection. Don't miss the Oysters Rockefeller, Creole Gumbo...never had any as good as this. Ship the salad..very ordinary. Filet Marchand de Vin...no steak knife here....butter knife cuts it with ease. Tout Pontchartrain....moist fresh with enough crabmeat to make another course. The wine list, one of the best we have seen anywhere and we are well traveled. The waitstaff are all polished and experts in their field...our waiter Tim , was personable, attentive and very knowlegable. After dinner we were treated to a tour of the restaurant...not to be missed. Each dinning room..all 14 is full of history and beautiful artifacts of New Orleans. The price is no more than any other restaurant of it's class but no price can be put on the such an experience. We can't wait for our next trip to New Orleans to be able to enjoy such an outstanding dinning treat.

  • Overpriced Tourist Trap

Our initial impression was wow, a restaurant that had been in business for 168 years! The food would have to be good to stand that test of time! \r \r Boy were we wrong! The food was more like a Denny's or possibly even a McDonalds. \r \r First off, we didn't have reservations so we were seated in the front room which could truly stand a make over. The ambiance was boring and cheap looking. Their was no music to create ambiance. \r \r The waiter was professional and prompt. That really was the only thing that was truly good about the experience. We ordered off their ""December Revellion Special"". We both had the Oyster 1-1-1 which was most likely frozen before it was prepared. The tiny oysters were smothered in some sort of sauce that was obviouly frozen before it was prepared. The Salad was pretty much romaine lettuce and some sort of dressing. The main course of meat and fish was also prepared on some other day. The food was not fresh. The fish was overcooked and tasteless. It was so bad that we didn't finish it. A true testament to a bad restaurant. The desert choice that we selected was the Pecan Bread Pudding which used Hershey's syrup and the Chocolate Mousse which was so cold and hard (from being in the refrigerator so long) that it was esstially tasteless.\r \r Our misery was quite possible due to the fact that we ordered off the ""Revellion"" menu but, please, you would of had to work really hard to make a meal that bad! \r \r
