VERY unhappy with the whole claimes process from PMI Agent and contractor tried their best to no avail.

DO NOT USE for a no-fault claim. Expect little help from claim adjusters with getting you any necessary medications. They have caused me physical and psychological damage by not covering my meds on time and/or reviewing my case after 2+1/2 years. Needless to say, I will never use them for coverage again. I hope you never have to go through Pain Medication withdrawals due to your workers nonsense.

I have used Preferred Mutual for years for my auto and home insurance. I have had excellent results with them. I hit a deer a few years ago and they were more than efficient in handling my claim. Would highly recommend them to anyone. Added plus, you are supporting a NY business located in upper upstate.

Absolutely do not use this insurance company! Preferred Mutual did not honor their contract with us. We had a homeowner’s policy with them and when we reported a claim of substantial damage because a pipe broke they denied our claim without properly investigating what happened to cause the pipe to brake. They never responded to our pleas to reinvestigate our claim, they simply ignored our pleas. The insurance represented that I called, Herbert Weidman, actually laughed at me on the phone when I called distraught to discuss the damage to my home and ask for a reinvestigation, you cannot get any more unprofessional than that! They hired an independent adjuster, Charles Mason, who, in my opinion, only works for the insurance company, not the homeowner, and has a track record for denying claims for the benefit of the insurance company. We had to hire an engineer to investigate what really happened to the pipe that broke, we had to hire a public adjuster and then an attorney to sue them in court. It took almost five years, mostly because of their stall tactics, to get a court date. I can’t express in words how extremely frustrating this process was. We finally won in court but, with the out of pocket expenses and attorney fees we incurred (unfortunately, you cannot recover expenses or attorney fees with this type of lawsuit), the amount we were awarded was not even close to being enough to repair our home. Beware, do not use this insurance company, they did not protect our home, they could have cared less about the damage to our home, they just did not want to pay the claim, they wanted to blame us. In my opinion Preferred Mutual is not trust worthy or professional!
