Founded in 1986, Refugee Family Services provides learning opportunities and support services to women and children refugees. The center offers a range of tutoring and sewing classes. It provides health and safety instructions to women on topics, such as nutrition, immunization and breast cancer awareness. Refugee Family Services specializes in job training and placement, pregnancy management and educational services. The center offers prenatal risk assessments and banking and credit building classes. It provides information on domestic violence and crisis intervention solutions. Refugee Family Services youth program conducts summer day camps and sports, recreation, safety and conflict resolution education sessions. The center offers case management services for the prevention of juvenile delinquencies, teen pregnancies and substance abuse. It additionally specializes in school liaison, parenting and consulting programs. Refugee Family Services provides volunteering and internship opportunities, as well as donation options. The center has partnerships with United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta and Benevolink Corporation and maintains a location in Stone Mountain, Ga.
