I Recently had windows replaced at my house(Such a stressfull process). I got quotes from a few places in and around the Springfield Illinois Area. I called the Glass Doctor. Saw some reviews, good and bad. But couldn't tell for which shop they were directed. I spoke with Tim when I called. He was very pleasant to speak with and tried his best to get me headed in the right direction. Bob Blaise came out to measure as I found out he is the most knowledgeable glass tech I have Ever met! About two hours after Bob left I was called by Tim with my quote. The quote was $250 cheaper than Bacon, and $100 cheaper than Ave. Glass (Those guys are Beyond rude). I came in that same day, paid half down to proceed with my order, then was told 7-10 days my windows would be in. On day number 8 I received a call from Tim that my windows were in followed by an appointment date being set. On day number 10 Bob and Louie came out and did a wonderful job!

Called in and tried to get a quote but the guy answering the phone said he wasn't near a computer and had to get someone else to call back. A sales rep that was very immature and unprofessional called back with an attitude and gave me a quote that was about 50% higher then the other quotes that I got. I asked why the price was so high and it was like talking to my teenage daughter with a response that was bratty and just so over the top ridiculous I decided I would not even consider using this company,
These guys should get zero stars. They are by far the worst in customer service I've ever had the unfortunate luck to deal with. I set up an appointment with glass doctor last week for a Friday afternoon; no one showed up, and they did not call either. I missed the afternoon from work, and drove three hours to meet them at my rental. I called numerous time, and spoke with the national line representative each time. The local business (Augusta) never called me back, and never explained to me why they would not give me the proper courtesy. I called again this week, several times, and never received a call back. Yesterday (Wednesday), I called for one last time, and still nothing... I gave them my office number and personal cell phone number. Stay away from Glass Doctor, they are definitely not professional, and don't care much about customer service.
Were responsive and quick to make apppointment. Were on time. Got the job done. That's not easily accomplished in my remote area.
These guys are just another inept franchise providing unacceptable service. If you are looking for a customer-oriented service provider, keep looking as Glass Doctor is not it. I called for an estimate for a large window replacement for an unoccupied apartment and explained the apartment was a 45 min drive for me. Glass Doctor would only give me a 3-hour window. They never showed. They never called to say they wouldn't show. Wasted 5 hours waiting on these yahoos. When I called the receptionist was nice but seemed unable to understand why I was upset.
I highly recommend Glass Doctor. Gabe was very friendly and professional. He was able to contact my insurance company with a 3 way call to file the claim right then and there and schedule the repair of our windshields of 2 vehicles at our home for the next day which is 25 miles from Great Falls so I did not even have to leave home :-) The technician Jason was very efficient even though he had been at a previous customer out of Conrad that had taken longer than expected and the weather was wet,cold & rainy and it was already after 6 pm he had a smile on his face and went right to work. When I had spoke with Jennifer at Glass Dr and she said that Jason could still come to the house but it would be late and asked if that would be ok she was very kind, professional and friendly as well. I am thinking of getting new house Windows and they are definitely the company I will be using! Thank you for the wonderful service. Sincerely ~ Mark & Carol June Lehnerz
The service Technician, Anthony, was able to save us hundreds of dollars by carefully replacing the cloudy glass on our wooden french door. If he hadn't been able to do this, we were going to have to replace both french doors. He was also friendly and vacuumed up all the bits of sawdust after completing the project. Thanks!
