Caring Staff That Feels Like Family

In a word, Victory Learning Center is a blessing. The facility is of a size that I don't feel like my child is easily overlooked. In fact, the teachers -- even those who are not assigned to that age group -- take the time to get to know him and address him by name. In talking with them, I feel that they genuinely love the children in their care; they are not just "coming to work." My child has responded positively to the individualized attention he receives.

Unlike some centers, VLC leadership places a high priority on having a peaceful and joy-filled environment. ANd they work hard to foster and maintain it. Their standards are high for teachers and I have been pleased to discover that new staff a) must come for a "trial day" before being hired, and b) must agree to a 90-day trial period at the start of their employment. These stipulations are in addition to the usual background checks and certifications required by all good daycare centers. As a result you'll find VLC staffed by people who actually WANT to work with children, and who care for them as if they were their own.

Directorial leadership is no exception. Cynthia Rodgers, the director, has multiple degrees and certifications in child development and special ed, besides being a nurse's assistant. She also has decades of both personal and professional experience working with children. And best of all, she isn't a disconnected "figure head." Ms Cynthia knows each child by name and spends time in all the classrooms weekly.

I could go on about other excellent aspects of the center -- like its three-star certification, or the smiles on everyone's faces (staff, parents, kids), or the fun curriculum. All of these things give me peace of mind as a working mother. But the best testament to the center's quality is my child's happy mood every day that I pick him up. There is no substitute or counterfeit for that.

Simply The Best

My child has been attending VLC since the daycare's first day and I could not be more pleased. It is a safe, fun-filled, clean and Christian environment for my son to play, grow and learn. From the Director to the Teachers, VLC is a 5 Star Daycare. You will not have to spend much time there to get a feeling for the loving and caring culture that is present every single day. My son has progressed from the infant room to the crawler’s room and now he is in the toddler 2 room. Throughout each phase, every room has been a wonderful experience where he has been able to develop and grow and each set of teachers have had such a positive impact in his life. Every time we moved to another room, I would think oh no we are going to leave Mrs. ____ room. But immediately I am blow away by the teacher that is waiting to care for him next. The quality of the staff is amazing. Pastor Beth had a vision in mind of what she wanted in a daycare and I think she has achieved it. Job well done! VLC is not going to get rid of me anytime soon. Stop by for a tour and you can experience it too.

More than five stars!

It's hard to imagine that Victory Learning Center has been open for just a little over a year due to the quality and care that has been placed in every decision made since its inception. Every standard of child services is met and exceeded in terms of parental expectations and state requirements, and is done with kind hearts and minds. My son squeals with delight when he sees his teachers and friends at VLC and has enjoyed every day spent at the facility. The administrators and staff make every effort to understand individual children's needs and to keep parents informed when anything happens that could affect the day-to-day handling of the children. We also love the curriculum-based care that begins at a very young age, and feel that it will help prepare our son for a bright future of learning and social interactions. We are very blessed that we found VLC and hope that others will seek them out in their search for quality and loving-based care for their own child.

The best in Nashville!

Finding good, quality childcare for an infant is like finding a needle in a haystack (it's possible, but difficult). After visiting a few childcare centers and declaring that I would just have to quit my job if those places were my only options, I visited VLC. VLC was and still is a breath of fresh air. The staff is loving, professional, and willing to work with the parents. I don't worry about the care my daughter receives when she is there. I know that when she is there, she is being monitored, stimulated, and taught by compassionate and competent people. When my daughter was out sick, the director called to check on her. One of my daughter's teachers told me that she had considered several other childcare centers for employment and decided that she couldn't work in a place that she wouldn't feel comfortable leaving her child in, so she chose VLC. Another teacher who knew that I had been looking for a particular item for my daughter, picked one up when she spotted it at a yard sale and surprised us with it. It is these types of experiences that reconfirm to me that my child is in the right place with the right people.

Trust

As a new father, trusting someone else to take care of my little girl to while my wife and I went to work was something I was having a little trouble with. The leadership at VLC put my fears and concerns to ease. After enrolling my daughter, I was able to see over time that they've got the best interests of the children at heart. They've got a great, Christian based program that exposes the "littlest of the little" to developmental materials and interactions that will help them reach those ever so important milestones. As a business owner, I know that word of mouth is the best form of advertising around. I recommend VLC and if you give them a try, you will too!

The Best for Big Kids and Babies

In 2008 we began searching for a center that could accommodate both a vibrant pre-schooler and a tiny infant. We stumbled upon Victory Learning Center and were overjoyed with the facilities. The center is bright, clean, and spacious.

You'll love the pre-school teachers and so will your children. My daughter came to the center barely able to recognize all of the alphabet. Now at four years old, she is writing sentences and adding double digit numbers. She raves about her teachers and cries when it's time to go home.

My baby is one and thriving at VLC. Other centers had chaotic infant rooms with high school teachers who turned over so frequently that I couldn't keep up. VLC has a wonderful one year old teacher who has tons of experience and loves the children like her own.

Pastor Beth and Cynthia are always available for your questions or concerns. You really couldn't ask for more.

No better place in Nashville...

VLC has been a real blessing for my family. Its always scary to leave your newborn alone with strangers, but the staff at VLC made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. My son started when he was 3 months old and he loves it! He wakes up with a huge smile on his face excited to see his friends at school. The teachers truly care about all of the kids. When my son was out sick, we got phone calls and emails checking on him. One of his teachers even stopped by our house with a stuffed animal and card for him! My friends were all shocked when I told them that, and they said that they were lucky if they got an email when their kids are out sick.

I couldn't be happier with the care our son has received at VLC. He has learned so much and we can't wait to see what else is in store for him. For our family, there's no place better than VLC for our kid!

Peace of Mind

Being a new mother I visited many child care facilities for my newborn. I left many places crying because of the facility and how it was managed. I told my husband you either quit your job or I will quit mine but I am not leaving my baby in some of these facilities. Then I called Cynthia and Beth and made on last attempt to tour a childcare facility for my little girl. I left there crying but this time it was because I was over-joyed with my experience. From the very first day that I took the tour to 2 months later, I have been nothing but pleased with the center. My little girl at just 4 months old is learning all kinds of new things. They not only love your child but they also give them a learning environment that us as working parents cannot provide everyday. I cannot express enough gratitude for the Victory Learning Center. It has given me and my husband a peace of mind about leaving our child throughout the day. In today's world, it is very important to have that peace of mind for your little one. Wouldn't you agree? Check it out for yourself!!!
